Ok so the store activated mine and did more stuff to mine then with the one I took my friend. He said his came up with the OTA update for the SD card. Mine never did for me so do you think maybe it did in the store when the rep was setting me up? Is there a way for me to know if I got it or not?

home screen go to menu -settings - system updates - HTC software update

click on check now
 
So this thing is amazing. I realize playing around with the hd2 didn't do this phone justice one bit when it wasn't out. I love the new text zoom and copy system, its so easy to use. Anyways while at best buy earlier, one of the salesmen was a sprint user but speaking on how he was skipping the evo for the iphone because its so much more advanced than these android phones.(and how long did it take for the iphone to get MMS?) Lol. He even brought up LTE. lmao. But anyways, the evo amazes me everytime I unlock it. There's so much on it that wasn't in the reviews. Like howw the fm radio can play out of the loud speaker. Also what speeds did you guys get for 4g? I get 1 bar from my room with 2 down and .5 up which is essentially 10x faster than 3g for me.
 
For anyone wondering; I installed Swype and it works fantastically! Gives a little error initially about not sensing the right screen size, but it works after that with no apparent issues :D
 
Can I add an event in the calendar in landsacpe mode? Also can landscape be set as a default when doing anything with the keyboard?
 
Im having problems sending picture mail. I sent my wife a pic 2 hours ago and she has yet to receive it. is anyone else having this issue? other then that the phone is 1st rate. thanks

Dropped by the store today just to check out the phone. It really isn't that big. I was expecting like a brick by some of the pictures and videos I've watched. I would go as far to say that its cute :P

Im using the htc sense photo gallery then I hit the button with the two arrows and it gives me a bunch of options facebook, picassa, email etc. So I choose message, it automatically re sizes it and sends it. But my recipients never get it. What app are you using to send picture mail? Thanks in advance.


Edit: With a little bit of digging around I discovered a little app called ChompSms. It works like a charm. I reccomend it.

I did what you did... I sent two pic's... one was included on the phone and the other I took earlier. I've also updated... don't know if that makes a difference or not.... FYI....

I figured that I would rather have stability, then I'll root later once it's available again.
 
Man my 3G has been lightning fast this weekend for some reason. Ive had five to six bars on my evo all weekend! 4G for me coming in september! Cant wait.

Also got swype going on my evo and im hooked for life no turning back.

EDIT: can anyone recommend a good extended battery? Is there an OEM one?
 
K I have a quick question, sprint chat reps are not available atm. My sister likes my Evo now, and she wants to get it. How much would it be to add on to my line? I'm a single user paying the Simply Everything 450 plan. Would she still get the 199 price?

Yes she would. You would have to pay a $9.99 add-on fee, change your plan to the Family Everything Data which I believe is $129.99, and she would get the phone for $199.

Question 1: I believe that gmail might be the only acct that will push the emails once they hit the servers. I might be wrong.

Question 2: Myself as well as others I know that have bought the EVO have no problems connecting to 4G in Charlotte. In the university area my phone picks up good. Hope it starts working for you.

Ok.. maybe im a little late to the party.. but why is that ?
 
Am I the only one that's seriously disappointed with the video camera? It lags wayy too much and the quality is just horrible. Also tried doing a live stream to qik, the stream didn't show up, but it did say live on the webpage. Then it uploaded the videos when I stopped streaming, and those videos weren't able to be viewed.

Connect as a disk drive and then move the files over just as you would when you browse a usb stick :)
