Official from verizon tech...we're screwed

Well, not in those exact words...but the message was the same.
The drops, pops, and clicks on audio....normal.
The lags and unresponsiveness of the screen...all android devices do that from time to time....take off all your apps and install them one at a time and test the phone after each one.
The battery issues....what issues?
The gb update...whenever motorola is good and goddamn ready.
Why did I "upgrade"from a good phone to a piece of shit? I don't know...but the son of a bitch won't be on my end table tonight, my friends.
Ciao!

?

I normally dont try to respond to posts like this but.....?

For whats its worth.....most of the time the folks in these forums know more about these devices than any tech person at the store or over the phone.

seriously?

When verizon is my carrier...talking to them is the first step....I gave my daughter my good x...so it's either stick it out or go to a different phone and/or os. After calming down slightly, I will probably wait to see what gb brings....but I am seriously growing weary of daily or more battery pulls

your first problem... you listen to and believe what a vzw tech tells you.

I bought my X2 a few days ago and, while I was waiting on the salesperson that I've always dealt with (they appreciate when you show a little loyalty), the manager was trying to talk me into getting a Charge or a TB (despite not having 4G in my area for at least another year) and when I said I had already decided on the X2 he goes, "yeah, that's a good phone too. It's running the new version of Android, Gingerbread." It took everything in me not to correct him.

Lmao! I would have corrected him.

True story... brought my phone in to a Verizon store because I was getting a weird issue with the keyboard not working (side note, anyone else experience this? Keyboard is up and pop up letters work as im typing but nothing appears in the text field, only way to solve issue is reboot) and I have a SU wallpaper that chainsdd made that he sent me, phone was unrooted and stock just in case it was a hardware issue that had to be swapped out. Guy goes "well it doesn't work because your phones rooted" uummm no its not was my response, he goes "yes it is I know that symbol is for rooted phones"
Uummm that's my wallpaper....??..?
he then proceeds to walk over to the display phones, picks up an X..
Goes to about phone on my phone and the demo phone..
And says "don't lie, look ill prove it, see they are running different kernels" and compares the demo phone and mine side by side with a smartass grin on his face like he caught me.
...... he was on an original X...

I asked for my box back that was behind the counter and as I was walking out, politely let him know that the X2 went on sale the day before and that since he works for Verizon he may want to keep up to date on what phones they are currently selling.

A local VZW sales dude thought Hummingbird was a new Android OS. I notice that the more arrogant and condescending they are, the more ignorant they are.

Just like the news media and politicians.

I guess that correlation can be applied almost anywhere.

I have to say I agree with everyone's assessment of vzw employee's knowledge. It really makes my job harder as a manager of a gowireless store. I make my employees all carry androids (i carry 2 myself, both rooted, and have rooted my wife's gtab and ally), and make everyone stay up on knowledge with websites like this forum, droid-life, androidcentral, etc. However, we are still always combatting the bad info customers get from our local vzw corporate store. Vzw really should make sure their employees know what the hell they're talking about!

Then I would definitely take the "official" part off as the tittle is very
misleading.

Also IMHO many of the best buy employees are right behind the verizon
guys in terms of being (for lack of a better word) misguided.

There is no "miss" guiding the Best Buy employees. I think the specially breed them to be completely ignorant while being completely confident in their knowledge.

As for the subject of this thread, yes the X2 has some issues but everything I have seen can be fixed in software and likely will be fixed -- just not in the next 24 hours or whatever expedited time-frame all users would like it fixed.

I spoke with a level two Motorola (not VZW) tech today and I must agree with the OP. They do not seem concerned.

Pending a Gingerbread miracle that fixes the low ram issues, Flash and audio pops, DX2 owners may be screwed. The tech even tried to blame the audio pop issues on my sdcard (does the same with internal too and same card has no issues on the Incredible).

The Flash issue was blamed on the app and the RAM issue- "there is no known problem, but a reset should fix it".

Nope, highly likely of being screwed as far as official fixes.

After spending hours on the phone, and being pushed to moto tech dept,I agree with the above...which is why I returned it...It doesnt seem as if they care that the device isnt working as intended. The DX was such a great music playing phone for me,that I had high hopes for the DX2.One thing I will say is that when it isnt skipping and cutting out,the audio quality on the DX2 is superior to the DX.....in fact its better than any ipod or music playing device ive ever used....its such a shame.
