My first smartphone was an AMOLED DROID Incredible, which I ordered just days after release. About a year later I rooted and de-bloated it. Three weeks after that I put CM7 on it, which is still how it's set up.
But I grew tired of it, so back in February I picked up an LG Spectrum off of ebay. I rooted and de-bloated it after about 6 weeks and one day soon I will be putting a custom ROM on it.
Now that I'm used to the bigger HD screen, I have a really hard time dealing with the old DInc. But I keep it around as a media player, a game player for my kids, and as a geocaching device I can let my kids use when they're out with me (I just have to preload the caches so that I don't need a data connection).
It was a great first smartphone with a huge community of developers. Now that I'm on the Spectrum, I really miss that huge community. But there are a few of us that are really helping the noobs get situated on the Spectrum. We're not exactly "pioneers," but it's kind of a rush being a bit more in the forefront.
Overall, I enjoyed the Incredible. I'm enjoying the Spectrum, too, but in a different way because of the smaller community. But since I didn't use my upgrade to get here, I'm waiting for Verizon to get a decent phone running the Qualcomm S4 or S4 Pro chipset. If that takes longer than expected, I'll just keep playing with the Spectrum.
