If you download it from the link in my previous post it won't ask you for a serial number for any of them.

When you come to install it, it still may reject your phone on the basis of serial number. But you can get around that by making your sdcard into a goldcard.

Bear in mind, installing the generic ROM like this will remove any languages or locales added by your network that aren't available in the generic roms.

I had tried many things, in order to install a custom ROM (with Android 2.1). I spent the whole night trying the most complicated things. But then I turned to your suggestion: install a "shipped rom" and use a goldcard if it blocks you.

And the GOLDCARD was the key to the success. I'm really happy now because I ran the RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_3.32.405.1 and IT WORKED! (Again, thanks to the goldcard).
