Look what I came across. They have finally decided to release it after teasing me since April.

The official HTC Thunderbolt Dock is finally here

Selling here for $59.99. Who is getting one?

HTC Thunderbolt Multimedia Desktop Charging Dock

So why do they call it a multimedia dock? Doesn't seem to automatically go to landscape mode or have HDMI out. Looks well made but hardly worth $60.

+1

Can't believe it's only a charger and sync for $60! It would be a maybe purchase at $30 for me. But that's just my opinion.

HTC has waited waaaaayyyy toooo long to release accesssories.
When I got my OG Droid, I loaded up on lots of accessories (multimedia dock, car dock, extra charging cables, extra battery, etc, about $200 worth).

At this point in my Thunderbolt life, I've completely found ways to not need all of those accessories since they've not been available. I've learned to live without and I don't want to spend the money anymore unless something truly fabulous is released. I'll just use my money on other things not related at all to the Thunderbolt.

Wow this man (or woman) has just posted exactly how I feel about HTC's accessories/release dates

man it's tempting. it's a good looking dock. NOT multimedia dock, DOCK. $60 for a fancy wall charger?

HTC u kidding me? and you want to keep me away from an iPhone or WP7? seriously, they kidding?

for shame!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see that you can have an extended battery and it will still fit the dock. Also the second battery slot can fit an extended battery to. Still $60 is a hard price to swallow.

What's the point of this shit? 60$ to charge our phones standing up? Pretty sure we can already do that...

How is this any different from this:

seidioonline.com

Yes, I could charge the phone and another battery at once, but 2 separate, cheaper chargers would do thew same thing in 2 places (like work and home) for about the same amount!

Edit: Funny - It isn't even on Verizon's website yet.

That is the one thing that might make me take a Look at it. Most other docks don't work with most cases, this one might accept more cases. Extra battery charger is nice too. $60 is a little on the high side for sure though..

The Seidio will work with some cases, but it requires a little ingenuity.

Man, $60 for just a dock? No landscape like OG Droid? Does anyone have a discount code or something?? I wouldn't mind having one. I guess I can manually go into Gallery and choose "slideshow" to show of my pic's while the phone charges (I loved that option on the OG Droid multi-media dock). I can't really justify the $60 dollars though :(

Stand up in landscape and charge at the same time, can't do that without some table modification or something.

Yeah, but is that really worth $60.00?

If it had been released when the phone was I would think so. When you are making a purchase for a few hundred bucks sixty on top of it wouldn't seem like so much. But months after release no.

Yep I totally agree; if this had been available at launch, I would have one now. Since it's taken so long, I've found work arounds & will spend my money on other things.

I have something like a dock. It's called a "kickstand". When i go to sleep at night, put that baby in "kickstand mode" and boom. Instant alarm clock. Saved $60 i can now use on seeing transformers 3....again. 6 more times lol

Case in point, the car dock I have sitting in my backseat..
