***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

I called our Verizon store today to ask when the Incredible would be available. I am in a rural area and the store has only been open a few months. My husband and I are both eligible for upgrades and I want to hurry up and get my Incredible! (He isn't into tech stuff like I am - he will need to go in and see the phones. I don't want him to pick a different phone and then later decide he should have picked an Incredible also!)

Anyway, the guy said that I must have been on the internet since I knew about the Incredible! He told me they had several other good phones. I told him I wanted the Incredible. He told me it was being released on the 29th. I told HIM it was available for preorder online already. He said he didn't know when they would get the display model or stock in the store. He took my name and number to call me when it arrives, but he seemed to think it would be AFTER the 29th.

He went on to tell me that he had read the review on Engadget last night and there were some issues with it that would cause him not to buy it. I read between the lines that he had just signed up for Verizon since the store opened and couldn't switch phones.

He is probably JEALOUS that I can get an Incredible and he can't! I figured he is stuck with his subpar phone and trying to make himself feel better about it.

I have not been able to keep up with all of the posts here lately, but thought I would throw this out. I'm in Chicago on business and decided to stop by the Verizon store on State Street to see if they had a demo Incredible. The lady in the store told me they had one, but someone took it home the previous night and forgot it. She told me if I stopped back tomorrow I could play with it. If you live in Chicago you may want to check it out. Or keep stopping by your local store. They have to get the phones sometime soon.

I'd probably "forget" to bring it back to work, too. ;)

They're not dots. Why is everyone obsessing about these dots. No one was referring to the screen. They were talking about the two sensors next to the verizon logo. You're not even going to notice them, so everyone calm down about the dots.

nope we weren't referring to the light or proximity sensors, but the screen itself. however, i don't really care anymore. what i care about is how the screen functions, and with this phone being the ONLY phone out right now (until the evo is released) with the amazing Maxtouch sensor, i think i'll be quite happy.

Well you're not going to see dots on the screen unless you use your phone with a magnifying glass, so i think you'll be alright.

yeah, if its as hard to see the dots on the incredible as it is to see on the iphone I am fine with it. I just snagged my wifes iphone and tried every angle I could to see the dots under bright light with the brightness turned up and I just can't see them.

if ya look back a page or so you'll see what we're talking about, it's not pixels we're referring to or anything, but like i said, it's not a big deal. just an observation.

For all that pre-ordered and used a CC. Did Verizon charge your CC $1.00 for the pre-order? Or do they wait to charge you anything until the phone ships?

The Verizon Video says "You'll have access to thousands of android apps and games and exclusive HTC Widgets...."

My question is, where do we access the HTC widgets?

I think I saw a video where its accesible in the widgets menu, theres a thing at the top thats says "get more widgets from HTC" or something like that, ill see if I can find which video it was...there are just so many...

Here it is: (FF to 13:25)

Its actually a great walk through cause its done by HTC not an independent reviewer. What I mean by that is not a good review, but a good walk through. He's not critiquing it, just showing what it has to offer.

it's actually under my pending transactions as $0.00. Wish it would stay that way once it goes through . Pretty positive that your CC gets charged once it ships, and not before.

I've never seen those! I have an iPod touch and never noticed them.

Yes, I know. The naked eye probably wont be able to pick those up. If you notice they only appear until the video starts playing, then the camera adjusts. And you don't see them. Only something the camera is able to pick up.

Thats the point...if you look closely under the right angle and conditions you can find it on most any device. In reality you presumably don't notice them, as will hopefully be the case on our device.

If you're pointing to that as a flaw with the phone, come on...really?

So what will this phone be able to do as far as watching movies/videos? What are the options? Is a micro SD card with movies in a proper format able to play on this phone? What types of formats will the phone play? I didn't see that in any of the spec's. Are there betters apps(will I need an app) then others that will play a larger amount of video formats? Thanks for the helps guys!

any1 else having trouble preordering? i get to the checkout screen and then cant load anything else

*im using IE and ive tried chrome too and still doesnt work

I'm aware of that but I had in mind let's say a road trip and I have movies on a micro SD card. I'm trying to find out if I need to explore some apps for that to happen or the phone recognizes it on its own.
