Nice. Nothing better than insider information. I do assume that you'll be letting everyone in the Supersonic Forum know about this video when it drops, right? I for one am dying for SS info. I'm up in the air between the Incredible and Supersonic until I get a good look at both.
haha, sure will, either the incredible forum or the supersonic forum or both as i've been following this thread a lot more. Once the video is out though, it will be everywhere, like engadget and all that haha

I would personally get the HTC Incredible, just because the launch date of the HTC Supersonic is turning into a long ways off. Most likely like may/june now. Originally rumored to be March, its looking a lot like may/june, especially since the rep from sprint said a wimax device would come before summer.

I am retuning my Eris ( 30 day deal), and waiting for the Incredible to drop...anyone know when verizon will have it??

J/k...well not about the waiting...about asking for the release date...:p

can't wait!! And i hope it is much better than the eris.

Expect a release date basically the same as the Nexus One which is slated to come March 23. The HTC Incredible is expected to come either the same day or 1 week before/after the Nexus One launch. Either way, you can pick up either the HTC Incredible or Nexus One; two amazing phones.

according to who? i don't think it's that concrete, yet. that would be best case scenarios, but i dont think the most likely ones.

It's obviously not concrete........nothing is.

Why wouldn't it be the most likely ones?? if you read previous posts, other have also said what i've said. When would you think it would release then??

The reason it is not the most likely one is there is no confirmation either way.

Meaning, it is equally likely that is launches a month after the N1 as it that it launches a week after the N1.

Rumor: Google Nexus One coming to a Verizon near you, March 23 | Google Android Blog
This which also says that the HTC Incredible has about the same timeframe as the Nexus One which is slated for release around March 23rd

I still would not rule out the Incredible being released a week or so BEFORE the N1 hits Verizon. Wouldn't it just make good business sense to have YOUR product (complete with your in-house service, accessories, ...etc.) come to light before Google peddles their product to your market - scooping up online N1 sales that could have been Incredible sales instead?

It just appears to make good business sense for Verizon to release the Incredible before the N1. That's my two cents, at any rate. :)

True. but VZW is excited to sell service plans with the N1. They get the 2 year commitment and service/data plan and don't have to deal with issues wth the phone or stocking/advertising the phone. Its less work for them, but still get the glory of subscribers and the revenue from the plans.

I almost think that the N1 will make more money than the Incredible...for Verizon, per unit that is. Of course there are many factors that we will never know, but with the N1 they simply get handed contracts. And nothing stops them from selling N1 accessories in Verizon stores. So much more cost will go into the Incredible. Up front costs of buying the units, costs to train employees, costs for storage, shipping (from storage to stores, and free overnight shipping to customers) ... The list goes on.

That being said there is still some incentive for Verizon to put out their own phone. After all, every carrier and their mothers will be supporting the N1. There is nothing exclusive about it. I feel Verizon gets off on having exclusive phones like the droid. For this reason I feel Verizon wants to get the Incredible released.

It is just tough for me to agree that Verizon will release the Incredible a week before the N1 strictly to steal some of those sales. Money is money and they will be making it no matter.

Excellent point, and one I had overlooked. All the more reason for Big Red to release the two phones simultaneously (or damn close) to both give us the same-day choice and for them to corner the market for a little while and reap the cash flow from both phones!

Yes, indeed. They have nothing to lose from releasing both phones during the same time. Only more fame and popularity while gaining a lot more subscribers, like me =)

Either way, they'll be making about the same amount of money.

I think they'll be coming out about the same time

It would make good business sense to have launched it this week or next. However, I read once around Christmas time and once here recently that an HTC rep said April for the Incredible on Verizon, so I'm sticking to that being the most likely scenario. Now that could be Apr 5 or Apr 26, but I think April is it. Not once in the past 7 months have I observed a decision by Verizon that makes good business sense, at least in our limited view, so I'm not putting any hope into a March release.

Alright, all im gonna say now is........CTIA, then we'll probably get an official date

I'm hoping that Tmobile gets this phone, so I can sign up with their family plan. Cheaper data, and good coverage in Socal.
Ummm, actually data costs the same if im not mistaken. $30 data plan. T-mobile most likely wont be getting the phone btw. They are getting the HD2 which is a sick phone even if it has Win Mo 6.5.3

OK, but this isn't about the sales channel, it's about another phone rumored to be available in March, which looks more incredible than The Incredible.

Grand, this forum is about the incredible and not Nexus's. I'm (along with a bunch of other people) not going to take a phone simply for better specs if the draw backs are I have to ditch the plan I'm on, I have to make multiple calls for support, I'll be without a phone for a few days if I have to return it AND that they'll put a hold on my funds when I return it.

Good job to all that got the info on the Incredible via Flickr, video and tweets. Now how can step it up to the next level?

At the end of last year, I thought I wanted the Omnia II and monitored the very long thread anticipating its release. One of the guys worked for UPS at a large processing center and monitored for Verizon packages that seemed out of the ordinary. If I remember correctly, he actually found promo materials on the Omnia about 10 days prior to release. I think that the box accidently ripped open a little.

So which members work for UPS and keep their eyes open?

Can you believe Monday is March 1st, the 23rd is not that far away. I would love to see the Incredible in our hands in 24 days. I really hope we hear something from Verizon soon.

Hello everyone. I'm back from regrouping. Some great news. To be honest, I wouldn't mind the Nexus One. I'm going to root it...that's the for sure, so the Desire ROM would not hurt. I just can't stand the capacitive buttons. If it's like the ERIS, then I'll be fine, but physical would be idea. But, it looks like the Incredible won't have physical. Is it just me, or is the US in love with capacitive buttons?

The HTC Hero has physical =/

I honestly don't mind, capacitive/physical, either one is fine for me. Nothing drastic about having capacitive, its not all that bad, requires less effort to push hehe. Having capacitive wouldn't deter me from buying a phone atleast, i don't really get why everyone hates them so much.

Yah. I'm talking about new phones. Hero is kind of old (and outdated specs).

The Nexus One's capacitive buttons are a bit hard or offset and on the ERIS there weren't always 100% reliable. This would never deter me from buying a phone. I would buy it with, I just prefer physical.

Brand new here ... although i've been monitoring a few threads here for a couple months. Anyway ... THANKS to all those involved in digging up a lot of this info.

I am VERY happy to see that I'm not the only one who's been suffering the last few months waiting for the Eris's "big brother" to come along. Love the Eris w/sense, but just don't love the specs. Moto Droid?? Like the Droid specs, but really dislike the keyboard/weight/and ugly factor. I'd regret getting a Droid.

Was "this close" for the last couple weeks to go with the current bogo deals. My family plan contract has been up for about 4 months. But now .. I can hold the line (with my old LG Chocolate) for a few more weeks and get what I've been wanting for months; basically a beefier Eris.

So again, thanks for all the sleuthing!

btw .. I prefer to purchase in-store. Give me hands on demo and in store support ANY day of the week. I could wait a couple weeks for that. Anything more than a month .. well, i guess i'd have to go nexus one via google online store. Here's to hoping for a dual launch!!

Yes we are, for some reason. I think it's more attractive to the average customer because it's 'cooler' and 'more advanced.' I would MUCH rather have physical buttons, but it doesn't look like I'll be getting that from VZW.

I would also like to point out that if the N1 is released on the 23rd without any word on the Incredible, I couldn't see myself passing it up. I've been waiting for months and that was the phone that initially made me pass on getting the Droid. And everyone calls Sense 'eye candy,' and I agree completely. But I also want my phone itself to be eye candy, and the N1 is much sexier than any Incredible pics I've seen. Just my opinion though.

Yes, the physical looks of the phone is all opinion. Personally, the HTC Incredible has all the potential to be a better looking phone than the Nexus One. To me, if they fix up the backplate, maybe make it White, the phone will be freaking HOT!!! like the White HTC Supersonic, that thing looks niceee. White phones in general look so much better most of the time.
