Well for me the screen in every way wins on the Evo. First just because technology says something is better it doesn't mean it is so. I have held both a HD2 and a Nexus One and I would take the HD2 screen over the Nexus one any time. Its much better overal viewing plus the screen size is just amazing. I have no problems with sprint as a network provider so everything is saying Evo I just don't know that I want to wait another 2 months.
I hear ya on the 2 months thing :( I wish we could hear more about it now to sway me from moving on the Incredible. Dang forums getting me all juiced up!!!

Idk...The Evo's screen is too big IMO. I don't want to feel like I'm holding a netbook next to my face when I'm making phone calls.

My wife's new every two date is May 6th and all the stories of VZW moving up peoples NE2 dates had me fired up to pre-order the Incredible on Monday, but a call to Verizon informed me that that date is the 20 month anniversary already, and the rep said he can't move the date any earlier... ARGH! I want this phone today but it looks like I'll have to wait 'till May 6th (did I mention ARGH!!!?)

It's kinda funny they don't want to get my money in their account a few weeks early...

So, here's an interesting thing....

I called my local Best Buy to see about getting the 500 Reward points for preordering on the 18th (coupon expires on the 19th) and they basically just blocked me out. They told me to try calling the corporate number. When I called the corporate number, they didn't make a note in my account to extend the date or anything like that, but the dude offered me 750 point "for the inconvenience". "Uh... sure. Thanks!"

BTW I just signed up for BBY Rewardzone like 10 minutes ago.

Might be worth others looking into. Just sayin'.

Too bad, they'll probably be sold out by then.:D

First go troll somewhere else. Second who is technology I would like to speak with him.Third your argument is junk because an oled screen IS better than the old led. To use your logic you would say that the 4G connection you will get on the evo is not better than 3G because technology says so.....your a joke
I'm just concerned about amoled in sun light. I have no experience with that kind of screen. I have just see on some forums complaints about not being able to see it very well in the sun. Does anyone have some input on this? I would really like to know

If you are a silver member, they have a coupon for 1000 points and that expires on 4/25. The rep I talked to did note my account that as long as I preorder I will get the points

While that may be true for basic Amazon and eBay stuff, VZW WILL NOT ALLOW their phones to be left at the door without a physical signature from someone. No Sig = no Phone...PERIOD. I'm sure you can figure out why;)
I know that. But we were talking about leaving it with the front office of an apartment complex.

so one last question.. if you buy thru BB and you have a problem with the phone you have to go to bestbuy and sort that out?

RE: Recovery - I lost my phone in 2008, I had to pay the $50 deductible, they sent me some knockoff Pearl back that didn't even have the Blackberry logo on it and the Trackball was a mess. I notified Verizon that this was not an acceptable replacement. They ended up sending me the full retail package after that, both overnight shipments. So you have the option to get an additional phone if the first replacement is not suitable. Just an FYI.

Verizon's new policy (or at least Asurion's) is $90 deductible for advanced devices, which the Incredible definitely is. And you'll still likely get a refurb. My advice: be careful not to lose your phone, download a security app to track it if it is lost, skip the expensive insurance, and use the money towards your new phone, or buying one on eBay if you do lose/break it.

Try going through the website. I did it yesterday and they moved my NE2 date up 10 days just so I could pre-order it. I didn't have to convince them or anything. I just asked if I could use my NE2 early and they did it right away.

Enter your location

Just use the "Send an Email" function and ask.

I figure they offered me the points for basically nothing. I'll take the $15 and run.

Can this phone be used overseas while traveling?

Also, has there been any discussion on audio quality. Experince tells me that sometimes these phones are great for everything buy Phone calls.

Good question.

I am traveling to the U.S. Virgin Islands in a month and want to know if i am going to get whored with roaming charges.

Has anyone had experience travelling there with verizon?

There was an article online from a VZW rep (that retired or was fired) and they gave insider tips. .. They said never go into a 2 year and never take the insurance...

Hmmmmm.... if they were potentially fired, you don't think they could be, I don't know...... bitter about it?
Maybe in their mind they see the extra year and insurance as just extra pocket lining cash for VZW, which in a way could be, if you never use it, but I'd hate to damage my phone 3 or 4 months after getting it and have to pony up another 6 bills to replace it.

As far as the 2 year contract, I'm not planning on leaving VZW anyway, so if it gets me not only an extra upfront discount on the retail price of the phone, but also my extra $100 NE2 discount, then it's totally worth it to me. The only (potential) downside is that I won't get another phone discount for 2 years, but, I'm getting a HUGE one now. And if I want a new phone next year, I could always sell the current one which will give me just about as much in my pocket as the smaller discount that VZW gives on a 1-year anyway, plus I wouldn't have the extra NE2 discount anymore.

I've been with VZW long enough to get a $100 NE2, but I know for new customers in the last 1 - 1.5 years, they're only getting $50. If I were to get a 1-year, and then later go back to 2-year, I'd only be getting $50 in the future. :(

Hi all - long-time lurker who wanted to say a quick thanks for all the great info and entertainment. I'm an old school BB user (857) that is finally ready to make the jump to Android and I've been drooling over this phone since I heard the first rumors. I figured I would drop off once the official release came out, but somehow this thread keeps me hooked with juicy tidbits. Keep up the good info! Any suggestions on the must-have apps that I should look for on day one (links to good resources appreciated)? One other question... I've always used a holster for my BB (Pearl 8130) and wonder how realistic it will be to wear this phone the same way... any thoughts?

Personally I don't think there are going to be crowds.....How many Incredible adds have you seen on TV or flags outside Verizon stores. In the grand scheme of things a majority of people have no idea this phone is even coming out

i will be impressed if another person is there with me. last time i got their early (i think it was for the BB Tour) there wasnt a single person in the store the first 20 minutes i was there.

The only date when the place was actually PACKED on was when the Storm came out. That was one hyped up phone...and one of the first real touchscreen phones that showed promise.

Again, you guys need to realize the few hundred or so people that are part of this thread are the fanatics, I think that 99.9% of verizon customers will not even know about this phone until some day when they walk into the store.
