Hello from Greenville, S.C., USA. Newbie android user here! Migrating from iPhone. I was just ready for something new and a little bigger but didn't want "clutter" on a phone.
I'm eagerly waiting on my phone to arrive. I ordered it on the 7th and though the play store said 2-3 weeks for shipment, it was shipped in just under 24hrs! It should arrive on Monday morning.
I'm looking forward to reading this forum and learning all I need about the phone and system.

Just ordered the Nexus 5 32-GB version and it leaves the warehouse on 11/22.
I orderd mine at 6am on 11-1 and it too is scheduled to leave the warehouse on 11/22. This is brutal. Especially since three of my friends have them already. Ordered minutes within release.

I'm calling Google Monday morning to complain that my friends got theirs first even though I ordered mine first in hopes that they'll ship mine right then and there. Worth a try. It makes me mad that some people get theirs ASAP but others are stuck waiting like me, watching others play with their N5...

Did you and your friends all order the same color/memory and the same shipping speed (2-day vs ground)? If not, that's probably the reason. If you did, then who knows what they're doing.

As mentioned by Gatman above, there's 4 different configurations and thus 4 different stock amounts. Unless you ordered the exact same color/size configuration, it could be simply based on how much they have each particular configuration. It seems that the 16GB were the most popular, and Black was more popular than White. So 32gb white would likely ship before 16gb black.

I ordered the white 32gb version as it is not as popular as the black version in hopes of getting it sooner. (11-22-13).
The white version looks like it is black on the sides and front, which works for me. I am going to put a black soft case on it anyway.

The person you will be talking to won't be at the shipping facility and will have no direct contact with them and would likely not have the power to direct something to happen even if they were in direct contact. They will express scripted sympathy for what you are going through and ask you to be patient, they are getting to them as quickly as possible.
Also, wait until Monday or Tuesday (depending on whether UPS observes the holiday) when the weeks shipping information is uploaded and updated. It may already be in the queue.
Not that I don't understand your eagerness...

As much as it feels like Google is messing with you, they are not intentionally withholding the order from you. After all, they don't charge you until it ships, and believe me, they want your money so it's in their best interest to ship it asap.
A lot of it has to do with where your order ships from -how close you are to a distribution warehouse and how much that warehouse has in-stock of which models/configurations.
I only live about 6hrs away from the Kentucky warehouse and I ordered the 32gb White which apparently is the fastest to get at this time. So that's probably why mine shipped so quickly. (And yes, I paid for the 2day shipping)
In the U.S., UPS service DOES run on Monday 11.11.13 (Veteran's Day) per their website.
Been reading too many tales of hardware issues and got a bit tired of my ship by date changing. So I cancelled this morning, I think I will check back when they've got proper stock levels and possible when they've got the accessories actually available for purchase before deciding if I want to give it a try.

We all ordered the 32g White because it has the shortest wait time. I understand Google is not singling me out or ignoring my order but you'd think they'd ship as they're ordered and we would have all got them on the same day like 3 of my 4 friends did. I've read alot of posts saying people got theirs (32g White) shipped within 24 hours and they ordered after me. It's just not flattering to me that the shippings seem pretty random. And not relative either, I want to know how Google determines who gets theirs next. Because my friends live in the same city so you would think there would be no discrepancies. Am I right? Or just mad? Lol

That's the thing. They said that as well in their email receipt, BUT my card has been charged, and nothing has been shipped. So that may be why I am more frustrated than some others.

Has it been charged or is there just a hold on it? If it has been charged, then it might have shipped this weekend, but since parcel delivery services don't update over the weekend, it might just be slow getting the information to you.

On a checking account, it will still have all your money in the account but will show a different available balance from what's in your account. Once charged, they will match. Each credit card company handles holds different, though usually they put it at the end of your period's activity undated.
