Got it just a few minutes ago.

Coming from an iPhone, I have a few questions.

How do you get the voice control for OK Google for Google Now to work?

How do you turn off haptic feedback?

I hear there are stock emojis? Where art thou emoji?

Holy shizzit this thing is massive, how do you guys normally hold it?

Use English U.S. And be on the home screen and say OK Google

Go to settings, language and feedback, click your keyboard and it should be in there

In the hangouts app, above the keyboard on the left side is a happy face. Click it and they are in there I think

I am a one hander unless I'm typing. I have pretty small hands, but I make it work usually with a corner of it balanced in my Palm. The rest of the answers are inside the quote, if you didn't see them. Enjoy android! :)

How do I add contacts?... I'm not used to having Hangouts and SMS integrated and all...

How do I add and play music? I see Google Music but that links me to an online service. I have some music on my computer that I want to add to it...

Sorry again for realllllllly obvious stuff, just completely new...

I can't help if you have an Apple computer, but for Windows just connect the phone via a USB, and you will be able to sync music from Windows Media Player, it works very well and the album art syncs also.

BTW, the N5 actually feels smaller to me than the N4. If you think it's huge, try a Note for size and then see how you feel.

OK, for contacts, click the phone. Then click the three dots on the bottom right. Then click new contact. Enter your info and save :-) I can't tell ya anything about music other than Pandora lol. Not a huge music buff, I prefer to listen to audio books.

And hey, I was once new, too and the folks here helped me!
 
This is probably not the right place to ask this, but if I am using APEX Launcher on my N5 is there a way to still enable "OK Google" voice commands from APEX Launcher? I think I am missing a setting.

It is specific to the launcher that Google packaged with the N5. Developers may figure out a way to enable it on other launchers but I don't believe that has been done yet. I would love to have it in Nova.

Thanks guys! I actually just ended up manually adding all my contacts one by one to the Peoples app and it all worked out well.

As for music, I just dragged and dropped to the music folder and it worked out fine for the most part except for a handful of songs not having album art showing and the artist being messy, but its fine for now...

For music I use tunesync. It will automatically sync selected playlists, from iTunes, to your phone.
 
One more newbie question, hope it isnt too annoying :$

Adobe Flash... How do I go about getting that?

Ive already tried downloading one of the .apks from the flash archives and installed it but when I try acessing flash content in Chrome; no go. Any pointers?

Chrome doesn't support it. You'll need to install another browser. Try boat, I believe that still has compatibility

Ordered my 32g White N5 last night before I went to bed. The white 32 has the shortest wait time. I guess not many people like the white one. Lol
It says estimated ship date is 11/22 which is sooner than some peoole who ordered earlier. Hopefully google is speedy and I see it sooner! Especially since I paid the $4 extra for 2 day shipping. Can't wait to carress this beauty.
 
Quick question.

In my Google hangouts app, when talking to someone else in Hangouts, I tried tapping their display picture. The N5 asked what app to open it with; Google+ or chrome. I said Google+ and always. However, all that does is dim the screen for some reason... How do I fix it?
 
You can change the permissions by going into settings, apps, choose google+, and then scroll to the bottom and click clear permissions. Then when you click a contact again, it will ask you how you want to open it. I haven't tried opening a contact from hangouts, so I don't know what happens from there

Thanks for answering again, I actually was able to ask one of my Android-savvy friends and he helped me out with it a few minutes ago. Thanks though!
 
In the past when album art hasn't transferred, I've used a program on my PC called MP3Tag. It also means that if you have a personal compilation, you can assign any image you like as album art.
