question: if you get the OTA update, and then decide to wipe your phone before you install it, with the OTA update still be there after the phone has been wiped?

It should download to the sd, where it won't be deleted if you do a factory reset.
 
Well, once we are updated we will be part of the less than 3% that have ICS. Don't forget that guys, when you all get super anxious. We are still WAY ahead of the curve at this point, even basing the update on pure speculation. :D ;)

I was on WiFi....
However, I was not one of the invitees for the Soak Test, nor was I playing with roots and ROMS... just did it out of curiosity. Then the weird result got me more curious.

It may just be motorola locking down their update servers as people were hacking into their master-sdc100.blurdev.com server (the leaked ICS rom)

Are you sure it would be hacking, or could the leak just be from folks that were invited to be part of the SOAK test shared the package they were given?

No, the leak was obtained by people downloading it from Motorola's servers. That's well-documented online in various forums where people are installing it. And the soak test updates have not been sent out yet.
 
I sure because you have to use another app to get to the server to get it. And no one has got pass the first email for it or it was not shared with any one online. ( That would be a first)
 
When i check for updates I still get "your device is up to date"
I live on the east coast was hoping we would have this rolling out by at least midnight... :(
 
Just got the update! This so sooo much better than I thought it would be. Made me completely forget about the galaxy nexus! Got the OTA update and I hit install. Took all of about 7 minutes to complete. Screenshots coming soon! :D:D:D:D:D

So, this morning, on WiFi, doing all the same, I almost immediately saw "Your device is up to date! No update is necessary at this time." But still at .173/no ICS.

I'm calling BS. One person on this entire site posts that he got it?!?! With ICS, screenshots are simple, yet you say screenshots coming soon. Not buying it.

Only 7 minutes? I find that funny that to download that large file and and install it only took that 7 minutes. When it was leaked it was taking those people half hour plus to get it just to install.
