ICS has started rolling out via Kies and OTA, if you are in Korea or parts of Europe***, see here:-

BREAKING: Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for GALAXY S II is Rolling-out NOW | Josephws'sBlog | YouMobile

You can also download a flashable .zip file for CWM, here:-

or download and install ICS firmware via Odin, see here:-

These are OXA (Polish) version with the European language pack. DO A WIPE BEFORE FLASHING!

This is good news as it means that custom ICS ROM's shouldn't be too far behind. :D

*** Poland, Sweden and Hungary at the moment. UK is next week, (week commencing Mon: 19th), via Kies/OTA according to this:-

N.B. This release is for the Samsung Galaxy SII, International, i9100 and not for the i9100G or any other variant.

I'm starting to get all excited. We have ics, we have siyah so now all that's needed is checkrom and jkay.

Same here doing nothing until Checkrom v7 is out. I've only got a month left too do serious flashing

JKay has been developing his ICS version for about 2 months now. Knowing him, its all done, and he's just waiting for the official source before making his release public. The same goes for the CheckROM team.

I would say its all coming together rather nicely for a Siyah/CRR7/JKay ICS GS2 by the end of the month.

Can't wait for CheckRom v7 - I don't think i'll bother flashing the official ROM as i'll only end up disappointed without all the various add ons i'm used to.

I'm wondering how many issues we are going to encounter going off GB onto ICS when we restore our apps+data via Titanium.

Can any of you who have already tried a leaked ICS tell me if you came across any problems doing this?

Titanium updates each week it feels. I doubt itd be long before that would be sorted if it hasnt been already.

Its not Titanium I'm worried about in particular, but how the apps themselves cope with data previously held on a GB device.

Just thought I'd add, I flashed it right over the top of my checkrom install and everything appears to be going OK so far. It automatically brought over all my settings and apps, inc homescreen etc.

Am missing the jkay settings though :( Looking forward to when that comes out.

The only issues I constantly encountered was with TI. It constantly hung on restore and you would have to reboot and start again. Sometimes it would take 3-4 tries to get it restored. I searched the web and it appeared I wasn't the only one getting these issues. I started to use CWM backup and restore and found it worked better. If you use Exchange email accounts, you will have to recreate them as the restore tries to put your email back but fails and you will get FC's on email until you recreate your accounts. Everything else worked great.

Exactly same here - I used cwm and also myBackup Root as TI was playing up.

Also found that on ICS sometimes had to restore in bit parts (ie 10/12 apps at time) to avoid crashing.

Got the email about the release this morning. Very exciting times ahead! I'll be on AndyX ROM v7 LPQ which should be out tomorrow, but I'm really looking forward to jkay compatibility and custom kernel updates (been ages sinc I flashed a new kernel!)

Titanium just updated. Says ICS friendly by default on the Changelog. Refers to previous problems with apps unfreezing.
