Official I've got ICS installed thread..

I went ahead and side loaded it myself instead of waiting for the push. Have to say, I like GB better. Guess this will grow on me. One thing I do not like unless I am missing something is I can't set my mobile network to straight CDMA/3G. I see "Global" "CDMA/LTE" and "GSM"?? I live in a weak 4G/LTE area and have always had heavy battery drain at the house. I always left mine on 3G and would toggle 4G on if I needed speed or am at work in the metro where 4G coverage is pretty decent. 3G is actually faster around my house than 4G. Hope I am just missing where the settings are.

Unfortunately it is not easy to switch to 3G. Here are the PITA instructions.

Go SMS is great IMO.

I agree, I have tried them all and this one seems to fit me best. It just seems polished to me and very user friendly. I actually have not tried a Go app that wasn't very nice. My wife uses their launcher on my old DINC, it is nice as well.

How did you side load it? DO you have to be rooted to do that?

Interesting to hear there's keyboard lag for the messaging app. There was horrible keyboard lag in both email and text messaging on the Galaxy Nexus but it was fixed in 4.0.4. Maybe it was a Galaxy Nexus-specific issue?

Posting this in another thread, but then I saw this one and I think it might get more attention/help here. I have ICS installed and then I rooted the phone using Matt's utility. How do I go about keeping ICS but unrooting the phone? I'm a newbie to this stuff, so a step-by-step would be appreciated. Thank you.

The reason is, I'm having an issue with my phone(screen/pixels) that I've only just noticed when messing around with brightness controls and I need to take the phone into Verizon in hopes of getting it exchanged. I don't want to run into any issues with it having been rooted. Thanks again.
