OK, last time. I did some searching since you told me I would be paying over 400$ for no LTE....sucks. This is the last phone I will ask about and it all determines on if it has LTE. The Motorola Moto X (2014), apparently Motorola is having a 140$ off valentines day deal and it's the best next thing to near stock android. Would it be compatible with Metropcs? and will it have LTE?

I'm not 100% about the bands but I retrieved them from Phonearena:

GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
UMTS: 850, 900, 1800, 1900, 2100 MHz
FDD LTE: 800 (band 20), 900 (band 8), 1800 (band 3), 2100 (band 1), 2600 (band 7) MHz

From Motorola Website:

GSM/GPRS/EDGE: (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
UMTS/HSPA+: (850, 900, 1700 (AWS), 1900, 2100 MHz)
4G LTE: (2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 17)
 
Will a Verizon Samsung S4 work on Metro PCS and if so what do I have to do other than have Metro PCS swap out the Sim card to get it to work?

Moto x will work on metro without issue

You would have to call metro and give them the imei other than that should work fine (I use a droid ultra on T-Mobile)
 
Does it cost anything to get it unlocked? I'm buying out my contract and they said I am able to keep the phone even though my wife was on the edge plan.

So long as you are paid up and out of contract they should do if for nothing.
 
How do I know if my wife's Samsung S4 is unlocked? If I put my SIM card from my Metro PCS phone in hers should it get service?

After getting my T-Mobile GS5 phone from swappa.com I needed a SIM card. Found what I need on ebay for $4.99.
I was in Walmart today to get groceries. On my way out I stopped by the phone sales area and looked if they had a metro SIM car. I found it and DAMN what a sticker shock, even though I didn't buy one. Walmart's price is $19.95! :eek:
If Walmart is that high for the metro SIM what does a mtero store charge?

They should charge $10 (give or take some taxes being included)
 
I bought a "new in box" (used) T-Mobile GS5 on swappa. The person and swappa said the IMEI was good. When I tried to authorize the phone on metro the IMEI was bad.

Why you ask? because the IMEI was checked only against T-MOBILE not metropcs. When I tried to authorize the phone over the phone with metro they said it was bad even though a T-Mobile rep said it was good when I called. Went to a local metro store and found out the phone had been authorized for metro but the person that had it didn't close out his account properly. It was still open and would be for 120 days after no payment on the account.

Moral of this story is if you buy a used T-Mobile phone make sure the seller has checked both T-Mobile and metropcs IMEI numbers.

Fortunately the seller will make the deal good with another comparable phone. It seemed to help making a complaint to Paypal.
 
So to clarify, any T-Mobile should work on Metro without having to call them? Or would you still need to call them to add the IMEI?

Should work without issue but you still have to call Metro to pair everything up. It takes about 5 minutes.

There is a model of the A3 and A5 (A300M & A500M), that supports US LTE band but I'm not sure where you can find it or if there is someone on here that has them.

I found the A500M on Amazon but it isn't really in my price range. The A3, I wasn't able to locate it. You said LTE, will those bands be supported at all?.. At this point I really don't care for LTE but will they be compatible is what I want to know.

Those specific model numbers should but I don't know where you would be able to find them nor if they are region locked to wherever country they are being sold in.

According to the seller, it doesn't have a region lock, its unlocked and I still have the link to that specific model. http://ebay.to/1yOs5s3 So, this model should work but I won't get LTE correct?
 
I looked at another GS5 on swappa and messaged the seller about it's IMEI being clear for metro. T-Mobile was, metropcs wasn't. I started looking at other options and came up with Blu Studio 6.0 LTE. Lots of good reviews and I've came to the point that I can't see paying $500-$800 for a phone for just texting, surfing, or possibly watching a movie, and of course making phone calls. I like the fact that Blu is an American company, especially being in Florida so I'm going to give their phone a shot. I found a Studio 6.0 LTE on overstock.com for $249. I should have it in about 3 days.
 
Guys just to save you a headache I'm sure it's been mentioned before make sure if you buy the phones used make sure they have been paid off in FULL! You don't want to purchase a used phone that has money owed to someone and when you get it tmobile or metro blacklists the phone leaving you with an expensive brick! I'm running the tmobile note 4 since day one and it runs beautifully!

That one wouldn't get you the necessary 4G on T-Mobile, you would only get HSPA in certain areas. I would mostly suggest you look at other unlocked Samsung phones sold here.
