Official - My Droid Razr is here!!! thread

Haven't had much time to mess with much of it (like most of the others) but I will say the screen is gorgeous from straight on. I'm able to see a slight green tint at certain angles but nothing that I would categorize as a "deal-breaker".

There's still a lot of things to look over, but I will tell you (at this time) I've not found a way to put a shortcut to cut off LTE. It can be done through settings and you can select CDMA only, but again, no shortcut.

There is a widget called "Power Control" that controls WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Background Data and Screen Brightness. This seems like a must have for convenience. Very handy.

Lastly, the LTE speed.

Faster than my home broadband. I'll take it!

missed the preorder... hoping someone around here will stick their brand new one on craigslist this afternoon :)

2. Heat - - screen was...warmer? but by no means hot. Haters gonna hate. Put it this way, I wrist test bottles for my 9 month old all the time, and I'd say if this was a bottle? I'd give it to her. Gross, I know. But what can I say?

Was at the Verizon store and put my hand on the front glass. It was HOT and very uncomfortable. I have tried many smartphones in-store and never felt this type of heat on the glass...

And I am not a hater :)

There are still a few of us around who purchase phones to use as phones... ;) :D

why?! when you can text and/or email, and don't have to deal with people... ;) :D

in the immortal words of Mickey Rourke in Barfly: "it's not that i don't like people; i just like it better when they're not around..."

I can't get mine to turn on... maybe the battery is dead? I hooked the usb cord up to my computer and then the phone, and the LED comes on and is white... anyone know what that means?

I actually had to call Verizon and let them do their magic in order to get my started. Mind you, this is the first "Smartphone" I've ever had so I was in a dark room swinging at noises, metaphorically speaking. Once they got it set up I've been having nothing but fun figuring things out. Got a couple games so my 5yo will have a little fun tonight.

set up and running it through it's paces. Been downloading, syncing, setting up and playing with it for a good hour fifteen minutes now. All this HOT screen business is nonsense. Warm yes but I can promise anyone reading this the claims of excessive heat are blown WAYYYY out of proportion. They are either girlie men :) or they have handled defective handsets.

No hiccups or issues as of right now. It's sitting on the charger.

Fantastic handset. This phone is beautiful. Stay tuned.....

OG Droid owner and it heats up when on the charger for a while. That might be the same condition here. How does the text look onscreen especially on the browser?

when the text is zoomed all the way out you can see the pixelation. When you zoom in a bit it goes away.

Blacks and colors look phenomenal. Overall the screen is BEAUTIFUL (opinion because I like SAMOLED)

I'm going to not run any smart actions for the week and see how the battery holds up. Overall though the handset is pretty awesome. It's very unique.

The phones in Verizon stores are constantly plugged in and charging. It's bound to get a little warm. There are numerous people here on this forum who have played with these phones without any heat issues, myself included. I think it fair to say that these phones get warm... but unless it's tethered to a charger constantly this won't be an issue! :D

One of the unfortunate realities of working for a wireline telephone company. People wanna talk and I got no choice but to listen...

OK... it was an easy fix... the battery was completely dead. Hooked it up to the charger and away we went... charges really fast!

Any word on root yet? I'd love to be able to toss in my TB backup from my DX and have all my apps up and running in one shot. No root makes TB restore a chore...
