Official Nexus 2 Discussion

The hardware is made by Samsung and Google is building the OS... this phone is going to be great... Samsung makes great hardware... just their software is lacking.. but we don't have to worry since google is doing the software side of things this time... also Samsung made the Iphone and Ipad for apple.. this is a great move my Google to steal Samsung from apple...
 
Would just like to mention that there is not one verifiable fact in that article, it's hearsay.

You'd think a gadget nerd would carry a camera :rolleyes:

If it is true - it is uninspiring and does not seem to tie in with the Google ethos.

That picture is a mock-up, it even says so.

I'd be disappointed if the N2 was a Galaxy knock-off. At least with the N1 we could say the desire was a knock-off from the N1 concept..

Im sorry roze, feel free to merge it.. I have no problems with it.. But i figured this deserved a new thread being that it was more of a confirmation.... My exitement got the best of me, lol. Maybe change the name of the othere thread to "Official Nexus 2 Talk" :)

i would really prefer htc or motorola. heck, i'd take hasbro over the morons at samsung mobile. i hope the N2 is real, but they got the manufacturer wrong in the article.

+1 I won't go with this device, I will wait for a newer "Flagship" HTC device before upgrading out of my N1. Nothing but issues with Samsung phone hardware that I won't ever think of them for a handset.

Their TV's/Monitors and Microwaves, that's another story!! :D

Although, on the above comment, not sure I agree with the Motorola part... :p Hasbro? Maybe... :D

Could not agree more, I had a captivate and while it was a good phone it was not a phone I would ever buy again. Too many things that IMO I didn't like. Well I had thought about buying this phone as good as the Nexus ONE was. But this def sealed the deal for me lol..... They really dropped the ball with not going with HTC.
 
While Samsung being the manufacturer of this phone def is a downer the fact that there will be no carrier bloat ware, updates will come directly from google (no carrier or Samsung involved), no touchwiz, it should have built in 8-10 gb storage (like galaxy) , rumors of 1.2 processor, front face camera, and the fact that I believe Google is going to demand quality has me very interested.

By the way the folks at Androidandme tweeted a sec ago that they will be posting specs later... YES!

No thanks. I'll stick with my Nexus One and wait for suitable replacement to come along with a 4 inch display that will run on TMobile.

If I wanted a phone that looks like an iPhone, I'd buy an iPhone. Fail.
 
I am going to stay optimistic like Bigmerf is. While Samsung may be making the hardware the software should be all google, no touchwiz etc.... I am really curious about the specs and how the phone will be distributed. Unlocked and the ability to work on AT&T's network please.
 
Damm Guys you party poopers! I cant see how you would still have doubts. Wasnt it the other day someone was complaining the nexus forums were dead!!! Now there is some life and excitement and you guys want to Kill the mood?!!
 
Unknown about flash?

Why is this still an issue in today's world?

The camera on a phone is useless without flash.

Also, anyone see anything about a trackball/pad? LED light?

The Galaxy S is a nice phone, but the guy who decided to cut costs on some very important features clearly was drunk the night he made that decision.

Hope the N2 doesn't suffer from the same mistakes that they've made with the Galaxy S variants.

EDIT: And why do these posers get to play around with Gingerbread and we still got nothin'.

We're Nexus One owners, we're entitled to this! ;-) (I kid, I kid)
