Does anybody that used to have a motorola Android phone before know if it's true that the Droid X / X2 batteries are the same battery as the Photon?

I listed a battery early on that had all 3 phones compatible, but wondering if anybody can confirm that.

I was wondering if this battery would fit without a special back as well...

I was on the verge of ordering the same thing yesterday. From other videos I've seen, it looks kinda nice. Only thing that stopped me is if or when the other custom skin companies come out with a product, I know I'm going to be ordering a custom skin.

I heard they were good but I ordered a screen protector from them when they first came online for the photon and it never shipped to me was supposed to take 5 days and by day 15 they finally had responded to my email by just refundning the never even told me what was going on

I like the whole carbon fiber thing.... if I pull the trigger I'll let you guys know how it goes for sure. You said you had gotten an invisible shield for yours though? I couldn't find it anywhere...

Yeah, the Sprint store I went to sold it to me early. It's not available anywhere yet because they don't have the retail boxes for them yet. The manager pulled them out of his pocket and said to his rep, go ahead and sell to him if he wants them.

At first, I thought they were the Sprint ones, but then I looked at the backing and it clearly said "Invisible Shield." Since I was getting the 25% discount, I figured it'll be fine for now and I can always take it off whenever the SGP screen protector comes out. Thing is I don't intend on using the back cover part of the invisible shield I got.

Not really.

You can get better deals at Amazon. Just depends if you want a class 4 and up card. The ones listed on that site are Class 6, but I'd go with a class 4 from Amazon before getting one from this site.

o_0 that is odd... I work in a corporate store and there isn't anything about any invisible shields for the photon. Do you live in the Matrix?

Close enough...L.A. where there are 10 million mobile phone stores everywhere trying to compete for business. This was a Sprint not many people know about, in the mall. It's such a small store that people normally just pass by it thinking they don't have anything in it.
 
They had the Motorola bluetooth keyboard 89451n or Sprint MKX8945Q on sale for $34.99 (HALF price) at BestBuy. It is the same keyboard they sell for the Xoom tablet.

I can confirm it works great, and paired right up. It has a whole series of android specific keys. It is a full size chick-let style keyboard, but no separate number pad. Works well wit the Photon on its kickstand.

I may buy a spare for my tv room at this price.
 
Don't buy the RocketFish Hard Shell case that Best Buy is selling...it's utter crap. Snaps together front and back...but not securely...and has a sharp lip that irritates the hand when holding.
 
Are the Rocketfish car chargers OK to buy from Best Buy? I heard a long time ago to be careful when buying aftermarket car chargers cause some charge at a higher rate and could damage the battery/phone. Not sure if thats true or not but if I can get the Motorola Photon car charger at Sprint for 25% off then Ill be good with it.

I've personally never run into any problems using a non-OEM charger, but that's just my experience.
 
I need a good pouch or sleeve type case for my Photon. Coming from the Pre I really liked using the pouch that came with it. Good protection for my phone in my pocket, and out of the way with no extra bulk when I need to use the phone.

By far the best charger at the lowest price and brand name to boot. I bought a couple for friends and family too. It is a fast charger unlike most no name brand ones.
 
I also received the $3.79 amazon HDMI cable for the photon, and it worked well and seemed to be a very nice quality cable. About 5 feet long or so.

Again, excellent for the price. I think I ordered the cable on Thursday, and received it in the mail today (Monday 8/1).

Id really like to see the how the carbon fiber piece is cut. I wonder if it has openings where the back cover says 8MP HD Video and or the Sprint logo or if its just a solid piece and it covers all that up.
 
I ordered the skinomi skin last tuesday, before i bought the photon :eek:

I just ordered the screen protection, not the back cover skin. I am hoping to go naked with just screen protection.

it still hasn't come yet :mad:

but when it comes in I will be sure to review it and take pictures, I am hoping it will perform as well as zagg or bodygaurdz.

....I purchased a skinomi skin awhile back as a cheap solution for my gf's ipod touch and it worked out well.

I am thinking I'll bite the bullet on this. I believe I'll have to wait until the 14th of this month before I can get the phone though. Nonetheless I'll report how it goes.
 
I purchased the rapid car charger, the hdmi cable and one of the $4 silicone cases just to have since it was so cheap. Ill report on quality of each when they come in.

I ordered the 13th and i had them refund me on the 27th so i would request a refund
