Official Release Date Rumor Thread

Maybe there is some confusion around DL speeds.

In my limited research, I was under the impression the Verizon's LTE was pumping out avg speeds of around 20Mbps, with peaks around 30.

The HSPA+ Radios in the Infuse & the SGSII might be different (and maybe my area sucks) but the peak DL rates I was getting on my Infuse was around 7-8Mbps.

I would have expected AT&T's LTE network to run faster than that.

Yes, Droid Charge can hit 30Mbps where it's on LTE hot spots. But it can also go below 10Mbps easily elsewhere. 10Mbps is a little underestimation on my previous post, probably 12~13Mbps on average.
I don't know how good HSPA+ is on AT&T, but if theoretical peak is 21Mbps, I thought it's reasonable to expect about 10Mbps practically. Such DL speed is no slouch at all.

I'll second that.
I've gotten 7 max on an Infuse
and 19 on a Thunderbolt. and I live in Dallas so we will have ATT LTE first, so I am all for it and might wait for one with that feature if it's in the near future.

As far as screen size, I am currently using a Dell Streak 5, so 4.5" would be great instead of 4.3" for me.

4.3 yessssss!!!!!!!

Samsung Galaxy S II on AT&T: 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen, available September 18th

You can forget the rumored “Attain” branding, because AT&T is taking the same tack as T-Mobile on this one and leaving the name of its own Samsung Galaxy S II untouched. As with its counterparts on T-Mobile and Sprint, AT&T’s version of the S II features an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with flash and 1080p video capture, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and the latest generation of TouchWiz atop Android 2.3. What’s different here, though, is that AT&T opted for a 4.3-inch version of the lauded Super AMOLED Plus display — the same as Samsung’s European S II variants — whereas Sprint and T-Mobile are both using a 4.5-inch component. Interestingly, AT&T’s is also the thinnest, so they claim: 8.89mm, versus Sprint’s 0.38 inches (9.65mm). T-Mobile hasn’t specified their dimensions just yet.

As for the processor, Samsung’s proud of this one: they’re using a homegrown Exynos dual-core model clocked at 1.2GHz. Some other versions of the S II have used a Tegra 2 — and granted, the Tegra 2 is no slouch in its own right, but we’re told to expect some truly magnificent performance on this model. Look for it to land on September 18th with pricing to be announced later.

Stay tuned for hands-on impressions in the next few minutes!

Chalk me up as another person really bummed of the AT&T attain is 4.5" versus 4.3.

Mr. Ed had said in a prior post with his experince that the screen of the SGS2 he looked at had sharper text and Icons than the Infuse. If that really IS the case, then I don't see that being possible if both screens are 4.5" and 480 X 800.
