I preordered mine but I can't remember if I was one of the lucky ones that got it the day before or not! I do remember everyone posting parts of their order numbers once the shipping started to take place and people were getting the emails with their tracking information. and I remember even following the Fed Ex plane at flightaware.com LOL that was all a trip!

I am super excited for this phone though! I hope it launches soon. I still have not developed any patience and I want it NOW! :) My Incredible has worked flawlessly though and I'll be sorry to give it up!!

Nice, I'm sure Verizon has taken steps to make sure early arrivals don't happen anymore- still might pre-order (if available) to give to a shot:D

I was pretty surprised to hear that the NP won't have a mirroSD card, but I am shocked to hear that it might not have a removable battery- especially since the more power efficient LTE radios aren't available yet. As early adopters of LTE, we know that battery life will be questionable (hopefully) until the arrival of the new LTE radios. To remove the only way the end user can really address that issue and still fully enjoy LTE, all for the purpose of being a few mm thinner, seems foolish. As you point out, this certainly does seem to give up one of the major advantages that phone will have over Apple.

As far as Sense goes, I will not get a new phone without it, that is unless and until another UI appears that does what Sense does, only better.

Just saw an article on Phandroid today that said that one source is saying that the Nexus has a 1.5GHz OMAP4460. The writer of the article specualted that the cpu in that guys might be overclocked for testing and will probably be 1.2GHz at launch. Especially considering the guys's opinion of the battery life was disappointing. They did say they were using the screen a bit and the brightness was on full, but considering how much better battery life I saw going from a 4.3" to a 4" battery, that doesn't bode well for a 4.65" screen and good battery life.

The negative rumors so far for the Nexus are no microsd, no removable battery, and disappointing battery life. If these come true this may be the final nail in the coffin for the Nexus and me.

I'm so tired of speculation...it's exhausting but addictive. I am so overly anxious for a new phone - but I guess that's what makes it so great. Going on vacation the day after you decide to go on vacation isn't the same as waiting and being excited for 6 months before going.

The rumors on the Nexus are now out of control. Poor battery life (based on 4gb LTE data use per DAY) - that means nothing to me. No SD card - well 32gb internal would be OK and I could deal with it. No removable battery - we might have an issue. I change my DInc battery almost 2x a day. I LOVE not charging the phone - just the external batteries. I go from 2% to 100% in about 5seconds.

If some or all of these rumors turn out to be true, I'll be going with the Vigor. I have no issue with HTC. I like Sense but I replace with a Launcher anyway.

Just anxious for it to all be over and to have a new phone to toy around with!!!

lol, I was there just a few months ago with the Thunderbolt. What made it more exciting with the Thunderbolt is having 4G on Verizon before anyone else. Within that 1st week of having the phone, I'd say I probably ran Speedtest.net about 20 times. I sure miss the days of consistent 25-35 Mbps download speeds. Now about 10-12 is the norm.

I got my incredible a day early at work as well. I remember even seeing about a FedEx truck that got in an accident and everyone thought it was their incredible on the truck lol.

I am so ready for the HTC Vigor. I almost through this Droid Bionic across the room. Even though it has a otterbox case I didnt want to take the chance of destroying this crap phone and not being able to return it to Verizon next week.

Sucks about all the news from the Prime. Guess no news is good news in that case.

I got a question though. What does beats audio actually do? I tried looking and it just took me to the website and talked about how its going to change the game of music again. But never really explained how.

Thanks.

It fattens the wallet of Dr. Dre and it makes "simple folk" "more poor"......

What's funny about some of these high end audio devices that work with MP3 devices, MP3 by nature tends to cut out some of the frequencies that someone has deemed have no value to the average human's listening ability. Thus some of the older tech (like LPs for instance with a true needle) has a little more fidelity than the new stuff. I don't imagine the Beats to offer anything ground breaking other than having a name brand on a phone. Although lets hope the Vigor's sound recording quality is much better than that of the Thunderbolt's.

Other than likely getting some Beats earbuds, I believe it will just be software on the phone that tweaks the music frequencies, boost stuff, etc....moreless like an EQ.

It's more about branding and marketing, in order to sell some more phones. Keep in mind, that Beats by Dre is really Monster Cable, Inc. A company that knows cables and wires, not necessarily speakers. I would actually prefer some other brands and will take my Sony DJ headphones over some Beats. The Dr. Dre part is just so they could move more of them. If they had just been named Monster phones or buds, would they've sold as many as they have? Not likely. It's all in the marketing and branding again....because here we all are talking about getting this phone, and having Beats on it helps!

Even if it's just a sound boost and an EQ I'll take it. Stock 3vo is too quiet and flat sounding. Also I wants those earbuds. I'm buying into the hype lol.

I have to thank each and every one of you "phone-tech-geeks" (and trust me, I'm trying as hard as I can to be exactly that guy as well!).
I read thru a ton of message boards and info on the Incredible before it came out, pre-ordered, got it a day before launch and have LOVED it every day since. Still using the original, never had to get a refurb or anything. I've played around with my friends Droids (original, X, Bionic, etc) and never really liked them. Hate the keyboards. Love my on-screen'er. Never did get a screen protector, hasn't yet cracked on me yet(knocks on wood) and I got a free clip-on case from a generous user on this board awhile back.
Judging from all the 'homework' I've been doing on the Vigor, it sounds like this is 100% the next phone for me. Thanks for all the help and keep it coming!!!
Bring on the Vigor!

hmmm, seems like there's a new 4G phone on Verizon's website......I didn't say it was the Vigor btw!

Tx Goat is talking about the Stratosphere which was released today. A nice mid-tier 4G option for some folks. It's up for ordering now.

Yep, Thanks to Droid AV here I noticed that yesterday so I guess we are making progress. I read on the Nexus side yesterday where Samsung and Google have taken control of the advertising and other details surrounding the Prime release and Verizon isn't to thrilled about it. I'm just thinking out loud here but if I had to bet, Verizon is waiting on a release date for the Prime before giving the go ahead on the Vigor. I'm sure they don't to pull attention from one another on release day. They both are beasts of a phone!
Just a thought

Welcome by the way!!!

I would think that companies like HTC and Verizon work out a date to launch a phone well in advances. Just the logistical side of shipping all the phones out, training employees on handsets takes time, and updating systems. But that is just me thinking.

I am hoping it comes out on the 20th. No announcement just walk in and its there. That would be sweet.

I certainly agree with you and I'm sure that's the way it's supposed to be. But as evidenced by the Thunderbolt and the Bionic (and many many more) dates are flexible and must be to fit the needs of the business. For instance there is no way Verizon would risk releasing these two phones on the same day. It is not a coincidence that there has been an information freeze on the Vigor the last few days, they are trying to figure out what to do with it. If there was a plan in place there would be some hype, at least from HTC as this phone is meant to be a serious player. Just my opinion. I could be completely missing the boat.

I saw that article too...I can't say that I'm surprised. I also saw someone whose had a Prime for a little while (tester perhaps?) commenting on Twitter that the release clock speed will be 1.2GHz, and that he was getting 5-6 hours of battery life as well...IIRC, he termed battery life "disappointing."

The screen on the Vigor will be a bit smaller, and I believe (please correct me if I'm wrong) SLCD is supposed to get better battery life than SAMOLED HD, but the bottom line is that I'm not expecting the Vigor to do much better on its stock battery. I know that I'll be able to drop an extended battery in it if I find the need, so from my perspective, the fact that the Vigor will likely be power hungry is much less of an issue.

Lol, I remember the FedEx truck incident- panic overload on the forums:eek:

I think that TxGoat and jikhead are right on. For the most part, it's a marketing gimmick. Since sound preference is based on the perception of the listener, some will notice a difference and like or dislike it, others won't even be able to tell. We'll get some ear buds and a few software tweaks that change the way the audio processor decodes and plays the audio. The audio processor itself is part of the Qualcomm S3 chipset, so I don't expect Beats will result in any internal hardware changes to the Vigor versus other phones with the S3. This means that the differences with and without Beats will likely be nothing spectacular.

This is more or less what it comes down to. It's just EQ tweaking.

The original Incredible thread was really amazing ... actually my first post on this site was because of that phone.

That thread got so large I think because alot of us were getting our first smartphone and didnt want the brick OG Moto Droid and wanted an Android smart phone, it was for me at least, I had held out for what seemed like a very long time to get the Incredible

I had the non smartphone Samsung Glyde before my Incredible and wow its tough to get that aweful Samsung taste out of my mouth, I realize these new Samsungs are a different animal but I really said to myself never again after that thing.

So hopefully the Vigor or whatever they name it will be my next phone.

On another note I wish I could stop putting a . (period) in everytime I text on my Incredible ... maybe since the screen will be larger I wont slop the period so much

Would be nice if I could get my new every 2 $50 discount, its due in Decemeber.

I must say I have not had one bit of trouble with my Incredible, really a great phone and was glad i waited for it way back when

(Holding unopened envelope to forehead... ) It will launch one week from today.

There have been so many false rumors about this and the Nexus that I thought i'd add my own to the mix.

Does anyone like Laidback Luke? Since we're all waiting so patiently/impatiently for some more leaks and the phone to release...I was just thinking of his one song "Timebomb". Anyways, click the link to hear the song.
