Official Samsung extended battery advice

You really need to drain and recharge it at least 3 times before you will get the full battery life out of it. There could be a huge difference in how it lasts this time and how long it lasts after 3 drains/recharges. My extended battery went from 1 1/2 days to over 2 days between the first charge and the 4th drain/recharge. Pretty amazing, hope you will be happy with it :D

With modern batteries is this necessary?

hmm. I guess I'll try draining it to zero. I dunno it's necessary.

it's also really hard to drain it. takes forever

HA! I had to turn my assistive light on and I also played a 10 hour Trololo video on Youtube. Even with both of those going it took over 5 hours to kill the battery.

I'm still not liking the case situation. Seems like everyone's focusing on the GS4 and not anything for this upgrade. I've emailed some major brands like Seidio and CaseMate and both told me that they'd send to the development team but that's about all they can do. If ANYONE hears anything else about any cases...let us know!

yeah I never did drain the battery. maybe someday I'll do it by accident. as long as I keep going to bed with 40 percent to spare I don't care.

get a zoogue. it's still working out perfectly for me.

What about the case linked in post 16? Should be out soon.

SHOULD be. They changed the April 3rd release date on the bottom and left it "first week in April" which means they are running behind. I also emailed such companies like Elementcase and Otterbox as well. Will report back if I hear anything. Still haven't heard anything from the others and honestly don't expect to. :/

This is good news but one thing, why didnt samsung make this phone with this more powerful battery in the first place?!?! Not right that they released this phone with a battery thats frankly not up to the job, not forgetting that we shouldnt really have to be buying a better battery + a new back cover to house it properly

I contacted Diztronic support and they are hoping to get the cases in on Monday 8th April. Heres hoping.

While doing one of my three full charge\discharge cycles I got this when viewing the battery usage in GSam and system settings! Very odd. All back to normal on next cycle. BetterBatteryStats report looked normal. Anyone seen anything like this before?

Diztronic now says 4/9 for the dark blue case. I also got responses from Otterbox and elementcase and neither are planning on making cases. So far, 5 big-named case makers have emailed me back declining any future production.

I take it 4/9 means 9th April? You crazy Americans and your dates ;->

Samsung Galaxy S III : Diztronic.com: Protective Cases for Mobile Phones

The cases by Diztronic are now in stock or up for pre order. My black case is on its way. Will take awhile as I am in the UK.

I grabbed the blue one for my white S3 and it just came in last night. Gotta say, for the price it's a pretty decent cast. Not a ton of drop protection but it's enough to keep it somewhat safe (at least safer than naked).

I do have to say that with the extended battery and with the case it's bringing me back to the days of the HTC Thunderbolt as far as thickness however the 2 full days of battery life are worth the extra gerth IMO.
