Whats sad is they claim everything was in compliance with ITC.. That just tells me Apple paid someone to put a hold on HTC. Apple know darn well Samsung and HTC phones are a beast. Anyone who thinks the next generation iphone is going to be leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else better wake up.

HTC: US Customs review is finished, One X and EVO 4G LTE shipments coming | Android Central

Yay! At this point, I really don't care /why/ the review happened as long as I get the EVO in my hot little hands post haste!

Well thats's just it, we may never know why. I agree with you I am ready for the phone to give to my better half for her B-Day.

Hey everyone, I dont have any more info to post. We are waiting on Sprint to get us the phones - they keep telling us it is "en Route" to us. AS SOON as we get them, we will start shipping them. Not trying to be difficult, but I honestly dont have anything more than that to tell you. We were hoping to hear from Sprint today with more info on delivery, but at this time they have not told us anything. I am sorry for the wait - I sincerely wish we had them to ship out to you all. If you have a specific issue with your order, Please PM me the order number and I will be happy to look into it for you.

As soon as I have info, I will post it so you all know about the phones and when they will start to ship.

I don't even have a skin in this game, but I have to say it is nice to see you on here updating your customers here as best you can. Thanks.

I just saw the tweets and Facebook update and was about to post. :)

Interesting that I just talked to Radio Shack and they said that sprint had just enough to cover pre-orders. No correct me if I am wrong but the (RS) get the phones from wirefly's parent so I think that EEE has a point with something fishy going on. Oh.... the guy at RS told me there are no more in the country at this time.....MMMMMM, curious. I'd say.

Sheesh, talk about spin!

What HTC actually said -

HTC has completed the review process with US Customs and HTC devices have been released, as they are in compliance with the ITC’s ruling. Future shipments should continue to enter the US and we are confident that we will soon be able to meet the demand for our products.

Yes. They completed the review process, passed and shipped A WEEK AGO.

Yes, future shipments won't be impaired.

No, that statement says nothing about the phones being en route to Sprint stores now.

Pure sensationalism.

It said what it said, not what everyone wanted to hear.

It said that they could supply demand SOON.

Sprint said that the phone would launch May 18th. Pre-orders were filled after the phones were found in compliance.

Where is the launch?

Waiting on supply because they ran out.

Where is the launch announcement?

Waiting on HTC shipping confirmation.

If they had a supply of phones, HTC would never have released that statement to the press, they wouldn't have to - because Sprint would have announced the new in-store launch day instead.

Man...that is a shame...used to trust in blogs, but more and more of them are lowering themselves to misleading articles to get page views...

I went to a Sprint Corporate store/ Service center today to ask if they no anything about servicing an LTevo..... they laughed and said "service? We haven't even seen one"...... then I handed them mine..... they looked like a bunch of kids on Christmas morning! I have been having some poor signal issues with mine so was going to see if they had any ideas about what to try.....they said to do a battery pull. :D

That is so funny Several customer service people have stated that they get the phones from HTC so which is it them or sprint.

Like EM said let the spinning begin. You know this just helps crapple sell more phones:(

Should have shown them the Google Wallet Factory reset trick.

Anyone have an actual source for the actual HTC update?

Like I said, something isn't obviously right ... And as the article said, I suppose it's really none of our business.

If this is a new and valid statement from HTC, then I think Customs had cleared a limited shipment for pre orders until a further more involved inspection was conducted.

And as mentioned, all the RS and Sprint stores I called looking for blue Denfender didn't know they were in the wild. Dumbfounded when I said I had one. They apparently didn't get the memo. Piss poor on Sprints part for not keeping their stores better informed.

Hopefully for everyone else's sake they start to roll.

The statement was an HTC press release from today. (fact)

Customs already cleared what they had. (opinion) They couldn't shortcut court ordered inspections. (fact)

Evo all over again, but this time with Sprint selling more top end phones - they didn't order enough for initial demand. (opinion)

They come by air freight from Taiwan. Smaller shipments than boats, but more often, potentially. (yep)

:D....I just found a WalMart that has one in stock! Headed there now to see if they can activate on my sero acct!?

Well not good for me, but good for my brother! Because I have a SERO acct they couldn't activated it for me (I'm literally looking at the phone!) but since my brother has a regular consumer acct, I let him get the phone!:o...really didn't have a choice! The waiting game continues!;)

So where are the phones? It's been almost 2 weeks since the "launch" ... Not a single Sprint store received them.

Best I can tell most of Best Buys in store pre orders were filled, Sprints online orders filled, and a handful of Radios Shacks filled.

I don't think BB online orders filled, Sprint in store orders, Wirefly, Amazon, etc.

I couldn't begin to come up with an accurate actual sales number but odd ball guess less than 150k.. Based on post views on BB community Web site, here and other forums.. That's probably a high number.

So, ok they ran out of phones... Why? Why were so few made?

If true, I would guess at several factors.

This past week, Sprint did some bookkeeping on a billion in debt and just got a loan for a billion to cover capital equipment - I read that as Network Vision upgrade money as a guess. So they're doing OK, but aren't rolling in dough.

I keep hearing that they make zip on the phones, they get it on contracts - so with commitments to Apple, Samsung and HTC, they wouldn't want to be overstocked.

And maybe it's just me, and it's definitely anecdotal, but I don't ever recall seeing this kind of preorder buzz for a Sprint phone before. Add that to the 3D not having the Evo's sales history and the pundits all clamoring for the SGS3, along with the new Nexus offering, and I can see how buyers could have underestimated the demand here.

They get $1 million for every 5k units sold. Wouldn't have taken much in the planning phase to set a great target for initial sales and then be surprised.

It happened with the Evo.

PS - this doesn't mean that I think that they're geniuses or that I excuse them. Just trying out the answer to the question. ;) :)

So of course after all my buddies at work checked this phone out they all wanted one... So I called radioshack where I preoredrred mine and talked to a guy I hadn't previously dealt with and he told me they don't have any... And can't get any.. Bc theynwere stuck in customs.. I then began telling him how I was calling him on ltevo.. Lol... But nonetheless... They can't do any preorders nor do they know when they may have stock... They received one phone so far... And that was my preorder.. Which I placed on the 17th.... And received the 25th... Not bad... It's a shame bc so many people would walk right into the store and buy one right now.... If they don't straighten this out I feel like alot of people will jump ship... But I can't stress enough that while the wait totally sucks... IMHO its worth it

The buzz because there wasn't a launch hehe

I had an EVO and like now I ordered at BB and had zero issues. I don't remember there being no phones for almost two weeks past launch.. And in that case, the EVO was the first real powerful smart phone on Sprint. The Hero just wasn't up to par with the iPhone. The EVO was actually selling out. There isn't stock of LTE to sell out..

Hehe just my opinion of course :)

This launch screw up is its own deal.

As for the Evo, supply was regional. I got one right away, but many, many others waited weeks and in some cases months for a phone after it was released.

That's what I mean by same thing as the poor Evo planning.

The preorders for this phone were strong, they eventually cut them off.

What would they have done if there wasn't a customs snafu on the launch day? Imagine the outcry.

Although, I bet they didn't place more orders until the customs snafu cleared. So, once the preorders were spoken for, they still couldn't act normal and just stock up.

Yea:p<---------------Congratulation to me on 300 thanks! AF:cool: is so awesome! PSA# EarlyMon (The Terminator, yet so kind!;)) has made it so painfully easy to get use to the forums and the added addition to marctronixx in the LTEvo thread, pardon if you've been here, but is seem as though you pop out of no where!:D

Hey gang...

On a tip from a member here in another thread (thanks), I started calling my local walmarts and was surprisingly able to track this phone down at a nearby store in the Baltimore suburbs!! After reading this forum and talking to Sprint workers who hadn't a clue about possible arrival dates, I realize what a score this was! (I think the worker there was surprised by the discovery, too, and even wondered if he was allowed to sell it). In any case, I'm a Thunderbolt user on the Verizon network and I'm checking this highly anticipated bad boy out to see if it might be worth the switch. Alternatively, I'll just keep one for my business and one for personal use if I like it.

In any case, two purposes to this post. One, to encourage you to please check out your local walmarts - it works!! Second, only some of my contacts and none of my photos made the trip over to the evo when signing into my gmail account on the new device and using google sync, etc. Never had this problem before, (i.e. switching between eris, incredible, and thunderbolt) so wondering what the deal might be. Also, if I pair this device with t-bolt via bluetooth to transfer these things, as it prompts you to do as an option during setup, will they be present then on both devices or will it wipe them from the t-bolt and send them exclusively to the evo?

Just an early curiosity here...appreciate any tips. Otherwise, the camera sure is awesome isn't it???!! More to discover and like I'm sure....:)

P.S. Hi EarlyMon!

From Sprint's FB page....

While Sprint customers who pre-ordered their HTC EVO 4G LTE received their device last week, Sprint continues to wait for our full inventory from HTC. We recently learned that HTC devices have been released by U.S. Customs. We expect shipments of HTC EVO 4G LTE to enter the U.S. in the next few days. An exact availability date for HTC EVO 4G LTE will be communicated as soon as possible. We’ll be sharing regular updates here and on Sprint.com Community. Thank you everybody for your interest and continued patience.

From Sprint's FB page....

Yeah, saw that. Only took them two weeks to say ANYTHING...I know it's been said many many times before, but this has been a complete mess and the lack of any sort of communication has been extremely frustrating and just shows that the companies were looking out for themselves and not concerning themselves with letting potential customers know what was happening. Sure, maybe if they'd said something more definite, a few people might have said, "Screw it, I'm getting an iPhone", but most of the techy people would have at least respected Sprint and HTC for being up-front about things. I hate that companies nowadays are so worried about speculating on subjects. At least give us SOMETHING...
