Hi,

is there other then the stock one kernels for this ROM?
where could i find them, and how can i install them?

any help is appreciated.

thanks

I haven't flashed any custom kernels yet on the latest build but typically most kernels work with this ROM.

I use Chevy No1's kernels available here:
Index of /froyo/kernels3

Lots of people use Slayher and P3 kernels as well.

Slayher kernels (v1.6 are the latest):
Index of /slayher/kernels

P3 kernels:
P3Droid Kernels

Always make a backup before flashing kernels. You install them the same way you as you install any ROM .zip file, through ROM Manager or through Recovery. It is not necessary to wipe first.

I did exactly that; flashed Chevy No1's one through ROM Manager- - it screwed up my D1 totally. i needed to remove battery to stop boot looping; then restored to previously backed up ROM. Now i am back this new one again.
I do not seem to made any mistakes, not much there to screw up with, but it did not work.

any ideas?

Are you sure you installed a Chevy kernel from the link I posted above? Previous versions of his kernels do cause boot loops with Miui but the newest ones work fine (I just tested his 800 MHz ultra-low voltage kernel).

Alright, I must say that this is by far the best ROM I have ever tried. There are a few things that I don't like, like, no app drawer, but I can live with that.

I did have a couple of questions about themes though. First, is it as easy as just loading it through the theme manager app? Are there others available that I could check out? I would like to go after a "blacked" out theme if possible.

Most MIUI Themes can be found @ MIUIThemes.com and applied through theme manager.

New build released Today, I've uploaded the download links in the OP.

I'm trying to use MIUI with my droid flashed to metropcs and I cannot for the life of me get mms to work. anybody know what could be causing this?

I'm not sure. It's possible that you accidentally tapped the "Data" toggle on the notification pull down menu. If it's related to being on a carrier other than Verizon I have no clue.

Experiment with different kernels. Its what makes rooting your phone entertaining, for me atleast.

Make sure you have a good back-up of your ROM and go from there. I was using the chevy LV 0.8 for the longest time getting fairly good battery life on that same version MIUI.

New build released yesterday. I hooked on CM7 nightlies right now so I won't be flashing it, but I've updated the OP with the download link.

I apologize in advance if I start updating this thread less frequently, I'm not currently using Miui so I won't be following the development as closely.

If anyone else wants to take over the reigns and start their own Miui thread, just let me know, but for now I'll maintain the thread as best I can.

LOVED this rom! Very nice-looking and LOTS of theme options. But, it was a battery hog. I had data turned off, sync off, screen off, and it drained the battery by 20% with NO activity. Can't use it on a daily basis. Otherwise, it is awesome.

***edit
Reloaded today with slayher's 1GHz froyo kernel, kept data switched off unless I actually was using it, made a few phone calls, txt messages, checked facebook/twitter a couple of times and been on battery for about 3 hours and only down to 80%. We'll see how it fares through the night and IF it's got a charge in the morning.

I have been using this ROM for a couple of weeks now and it has some of the best battery life that I have experienced in a while. Definitely a lot better than any Gingerbread ROM that I have messed around with.

Off the charger since 3pm yesterday...80% battery with light use. I think we have a winner until someone finishes a GB rom better than what is out there right now.

Been ruining MIUI all week, and I must say, I've found my Milestone's permanent rom. Just hope team MIUI keeps em coming! :)
