[OFFICIAL] The "I Got Mine" and First Impressions Thread

Well... more like a Note 7.99995

But I know what Note 9 to order next year! The foldable, flexible screen Note 9 - see you in that forum next year!

Or...... everything could just go perfect for all of us... we buy the phone, no problems..no issues, no worries...... why can't that just happen? We could still have a great forum with all of us posting about how happy we are and raving about the great features that this phone has to offer, and no faults. That won't happen until like the year 2112, like my usernane, but who knows? Maybe the Note 9/10? Lol think positive!

If everything went right and all was perfect, that would be boring, wouldn't it? I mean, how long could we sit in here singing kumbaya together over our perfect phones, while awaiting an even perfecter phone to replace it? Nahhh... it's good to have a little drama up in here...

:D

It's these stories that makes me happy I bought unlocked & unbranded, not that I had a choice really unless I wanted to wait

I bought an International version
How much bigger is the Note 8 than the Note 4?

It is narrower and longer

Note 4 = 6.04 x 3.09 x 0.33 in

Note 8 = 6.40 x 2.94 x 0.34 in

I know, me inserting sarcasm again.;)

On your point, we have hardly any drama in here with each other compared to other forums, just with phones/carriers/accessories. It's actually refreshing!

Breakfast on the Note 8!!!

Why are my pics sideways?

@Auronda40 first of all, WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS!

Second, it's very possible that when you tilted your phone to get the shot of that awesome breakfast, the phone shifted from landscape mode to portrait mode. I really have to watch that and make sure that it's oriented properly before I get a shot with the phone's camera pointed downward.

Third, you really need to resend the invitations to breakfast: I don't think any of us got it!

:D

Ha Ha!! But I have my orientation locked and was holding the phone in portrait so I don't get why it loaded here like that. I posted the same pic on another forum and it loaded fine. Wonder what happened? Oh well

Curious.....how are uploading...from the phone through the app, or through the desktop website?

Ok, so this is not on of my expertise topics but I'm gonna upload 2 pics here, one in portrait, one in landscape. The cab handles should be at bottom of each. If they upload fine then I have no idea how to help you..... ok, let's see.

I did not go the un locked route but I signed up for t-mobile they have a bogo running so I got two phones for 515 once i get the refund which samsung says takes up to 8 weeks. Anywho My Note 8 works great my wife's has issues it keeps closing apps and going to the home page and when she scrolls the page it stutters and glitches so t-mobile is sending out a new one for her. but so far I like the phone a lot. still getting used to the speakers being on the bottom.
On a different note, is there any way to stop calls that are "Unknown" or "private" these telemarketers are getting sneaky and making their numbers a friend said trapcall was good but I do not want to pay monthly for a un masking app. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks, Doug

Hear me out, i recently purchased a Note 8 and dropped an arm and a leg for it, $1050ish out the door of Best Buy, Fu*ck Me right? I came from a Note 4 and i have always loved the series of Samsungs Note's and will continue to be the biggest supporter. BUT....this thing feels good. A little TOO good.

Jesus i get that i spent $1000 on the phone but even holding it i feel like i should have it wrapped around 5 layers of bubble wrap just to make sure it doesnt fall or crack. Its not even about the money i spent on this its about the FEEL of it you know. It just feel like im holding a really expensive piece of metal in my hands, or some sort of future tech thats is onle ONE-OFF.

Dont get me wrong the phone is fantastic and if this thing last me at least 2 years i am going to consider it worth it (although the camera alone is worth it, this thing is a monster). But how much more quality built can something be? It doesnt feel like i can throw it around anymore or even hold it with one hand to text, i legitamitely feel like i have to hold it with two hands. Note (ha) that ive only had it for, hmmm, 3 days now?

So it might just be thats its "New" but i highly doubt that, i really do think that this is the best made phone on the planet by far and it trully feels like something built with really expesive material.

But is the point of a phone though? To have it be THIS high tier built? Being completely serious, the phone is great but it scares me a little to even hold it because of how it feels in my hands. Or maybe samsung just built it the wrong way and it doesnt give me confidence like my old Note 4 used to?

For example my Note 4, while i wasnt scared to drop it, i always felt like i could comfortable and more importantly confidently hold it in one hand, the Note 8 doesnt give me that....at all.

is this just me or have others felt the same way? What are your guys' thought on the matter? Are phones being built with TOO much quality in mind? Not the function, but the physical parts them. Let me know

I only brought my S8+ so I could dex or I wouldn't have paid so much for this device, seem a waste using this device as just a phone and you're right phone are way better than most people need.

yeah im not downing the phone its just, it feels too good to be a phone you know, it feels more like im handling a finely modled piece of glass than i can talk to more than anything honestly

I think you didn't read me right, I know how you feel these phones are SICK and it feels like that in your hand, I'm on that page don't worry about that.
