edit:
well im bummed out now. no hold vol rocker to speed scroll,no touch scroll,no capacitive button function. just rocker and power. and apparently racehorse is hidden somewhere else other than vol+/vol-, i couldnt find him![]()
im debating going back to the "unofficial" version. at least maybe till they add capacative buttons and the other stuff![]()
So I've never tried this before. What makes it different from (or even better that) ROM manager?
Start doing things manually through recovery and save yourself numerous future headaches.LOL. I yeild to those with more experience. One last question. If I have a backup under Clockwork, can I still use it or transfer it to work with TWRP?
) Best thing to do if you have a backup you can't live without is restore your backup, then flash TWRP and make new backup with TWRPDon't do it. The new version backups are not compatible with the older version and it's time to update everything. The options are better even tho vol rocker doesn't work. The backups and restores are way quicker too. They'll get the interface working again with touch. Hang in there.......

So if I decided to make the jump from cwm, do I just flash this in hboot?

No, they are interflashable (yea, I made up my own word) Best thing to do if you have a backup you can't live without is restore your backup, then flash TWRP and make new backup with TWRP
They are Un-interswitchable. You can always save a backup and reflash your old twrp if you need to restore. The options on the new version outweigh the scrollable ability on the old version. bymmv.
) its no big deal for me to change recoveries around-just a quick name chagne with astro file manager
being the nandroid hoarder i am,ive got backups from CW,amon, and TWRP all on my phone still

Ya killin' me. Do I do it from memory or flash recovery? Ok, need a backup anyway.. give me a sec.what new options? memory escapes me at the moment what one had the other didnt. im really not worried about the backups being un-interflashable and un-interswitchable (i think) its no big deal for me to change recoveries around-just a quick name chagne with astro file manager

im pretty accustomed to the touch scroll and capacative buttons, unless you can convince me these options are really worth it.![]()
Can't argue with that. But what goodies other than capacitive buttons? The touch screen thing was awful. All those new features sound great, but I think I'll wait till the capacative buttons and other goodies are working before switching

more features, better ui with the menus. ability to change colorsWhy is TWRP better than CWM? I ask because I've always used CWM and I'm curious what the advantages of TWRP are. Thanks.

Scotty - if you know of some instructions posted somewhere on how to convert CWM backups to TWRP ones I'd love to see the link.
