press the volume up button and the power button at the same time.


NOTE: I did NOT wait when the icon with the phone and the red triangle appeared. Press UP volume and POWER to access the loader menu when you see that icon.

When i dl'ed the update, it was in winrar file. I renamed that file update.zip however the other guy suggested to name it as "update" and it worked!
 
Yes I would assume just rename it Update. As Windows already knows it is a zip file. Renaming it update.zip is being redundant and it probably will not recognize it.

I will try this out tomorrow after I read up on the reviews. And if they are not good, just wait until the OTA.
 
By the way, after it installs files, you need to hit "reboot system now", just in case people get nervous what to do next after.
 
Mmmmm, yummy FroYo goodness - thanks for the tips everybody, running fine here. Just follow those instructions TO THE LETTER and break out an extra big can of PATIENCE as some of those processes take their own sweet time.

OK, now where's my Gingerbread! :p
 
Someone legit needs to host.. lol thing is slowing down.. 37 mins to go.. woot!

You have extensions hidden - no big deal.

If you look at it in Astro from the phone you'll see it's named update.zip.

I'm just waiting for mine to finish. Re-boot #3 and just watched my boot animation. Now staring at the 4G screen for quite a while, but my phone does that sometimes. I'm just gonna let it do it's thing.

right after I submitted it booted - and the droidX keyboard is puking all over my phone. No big deal, just annoying until I can get in and set it to the HTC one. 30% and counting!

I downloaded straight from the htc site. Did the copy over, power button and down. Then hit the black screen with red triangle. Pressed both up and down with power button. Nothing. Going to let it sit until it decides to do something. Phone stayed at black screen with red triangle for over 30 mins. I pulled the battery and it rebooted. Will try again.
 
ok so the file OTA_Supersonic_3.26.651.3-1.47.651.1_releaseu2cqjc2e98n4o6xn.zip then needs to be renamed to update.zip and just put in the root of the sd card and loaded it the recovery mode?
