The alterbative link is the same firmware as VS870 b firmware. It's just another link in case the other one dies.

Not really. We already have fully working recoveries. Both PG and I each made touch versions.

I've been trying to figure out why it doesn't work on the motion. I sort of had a hunch, but that's all it is for now.

Two things... The original links posted at the top redirect me to "access restricted" page.
Also, sammyz's link obviously doesn't download properly... Every browser i use starts the download saying "20 minutes remaining" then just jumps to finished... The file ends up being only 4Mb.
There is (Nearly) no working links to recover this phone at the moment...
Took me more time to find a working link than it did to recover the phone...

ok for those of you (like me) that have had trouble getting your cab files, you can go to Stock ROM / Firmware | For LG Phones & Tablets and download the latest, I'm not sure how unfortunate this is but i've pretty much bricked my phone and am getting back to something usable lol
