*Official* What I Love About My New Atrix Thread

So most people aren't too happy with Motoblur - anything stopping you from using Launcher Pro Plus? Wouldn't that get ridofMotoblur? Newbie questions, sorry!

i love my phone. just got it 2 hours ago and it's amazing. super fast, very great build quality and a big upgrade from my iPhone 3GS

also, i got it for $99 before taxes at at&t.........thank you $100 discount :D

how is the signal strength? I saw a drastic degradation in my signal strength coming form BB

The higher-end BBs are legendary for their radios so that's to be expected. Shouldn't be drastic though. I am finding that this phone is flipping around in areas where my iPhone 4 stays rock solid on 3G.

So after taking off auto brightness and setting it around 45%, I absolutely love the screen. Its wayyy better than my N1. Sure the yellow is still a bit off but the colors look more natural and its super sharp. Awesome.

Motorola is also known for having good RF performance.

Don't forget the iPhone does not show what kind of 3G signal it has acquired. It shows "3G" for all connections except for EDGE and GPRS. So while the iPhone signal may infact be bouncing around, you just won't see it. It's also slower to show a drop to EDGE and back again than most other phones.

I echo all the existing comments here. My other favorite thing: it fits in the neoprene sleeve that came with my Nexus One! I love that sleeve, with its little Android robot on the bottom!

seriously? I thought it'd be too big for the sleeve. lol I wish all phones came with that sleeve.

This is good to hear.

What about MotoBlur? Is there a way around it, or are users playing along with it?

First impressions:

Solid, well put together, plastic is fine.

The display is fantastic. Immediately I could tell the difference in small text/details vs. the Captivate. Pentile schmentile :D

VERY fast out of the box.

I'm only on WiFi right now, so I'll have to update on my cell performance.

[edit]

Connected to Google, accounts/contacts/etc., are all sync'ed up :)

One of the reasons I'm interested in the Atrix is the size - it's about the same size as my Desire but with a lot more power and a slightly bigger screen. Phone Arena has a tool to show sizes, just add the phones you want to see how they compare:

Motorola ATRIX 4G Visual Size Comparison - Phone Arena

lol I wish all phones came with that sleeve.
Yeah that's a neat little sleeve, but I wouldn't use it.
:)

OK, thought it was the size of the SGS phones.

That's because your Desire didn't come with one :P

I've had the atrix for a day and a half now and its simply a beast. My previous phone was a iphone 3g so I can't really compare its performance to anything that's up to date but its quite snappy thus far. Easily my favorite aspect of the phone so far is the battery life. I picked up the phone with half battery and proceeded to use it heavily for almost 6 hours before it finally shut down on me. I know this could ruin my credibility as I've heard such negative things about motoblur, but I actually like it. This may be just becauce I come from an apple background where no additional functionality is worked into the OS and haven't tried any other overlays. Anyway thus far I like the phone and I will post back after a little more use..

The Atrix has been a joy to have. Coming from a Droid X which did its job well, this phone blows it away. The Droid X experienced lag all the time while the Atrix has had none. I can move around with ease. I like the built in task manager as it shows you the cpu and ram usage.
