Help Offline GPS Map

Hi Guys,

Anyone can help me install Mapdroyd to Samsung Galaxy Note. I cant download Mpa of the Philippines. It says "download download complete, enjoy" but it appears only 3% complete. Is there anything wrong with my Note or do I need to upgrade my Memory. Is there any free offline map for Philippines. Thnx.

Hi Gerry,

I just started playing with my Note this week myself and I installed Mapdroyd and Osmand (both of which work with the same format maps). I must admit to preferring Osmand as it can also perform offline routing. The only disadvantage is the free version is limited to 5 map downloads.

That being said, I can download the maps of the Philippines just fine in Mapdroyd and can also navigate the maps. I have the 32Gb version of the Note but have filled it with mp3s to the point that I only have 2Gb free in the usb storage area, so I doubt that memory is an issue (the maps are also very small). I would guess it would likely be a problem with the network. I am loading my maps over WLAN. Perhaps you are having timeout issues (wild guess). Perhaps try a different network if you have access to one?

I hope this was helpful (at least to know that the app should work at least)...
