Hi,
I plan to buy the LG GT540 Optimus Smartphonesince it seems to have best price for value and I do not need iPhone with all its restrictions (iTunes).
Plan is to use this phone for the German market with prepaid SIM card (9ct/min) and to use Internet connection only in case of "emergency".
Since I use Google Mail and its fantasic applications CONTACTS, CALENDAR and DOCS, I would like to know whether all this ONLINE staff also works OFFLINE (without Internet connection)? The idea is to download contacts and calendar frequently (once a week or so) and to use all these details OFFLINE (saving the money for the internet connection, as this is quite expensive here in Germany - cheapest rates are 20-30 EUR / month; in addition to the phone and other telecomms).
Best regards

dun't know really, always use them ONLINE. yeah, 20-30 EUR/month is quite expensive,

...a shortcoming of the Android OS could be the missing rsap capability, which is well known in the European/Canadian Automotive sector.
For Nokia/Symbian there usually is no problem with rsap, but (all) others reject to implement it - Samsung even tried to rebuild this feature for some of their products. BR
