OH BARNACLES! Optimus S issues

So I rooted my optimus S last month and have been using the reborn rom also and using the hotspot widget to tether to my acer win7 laptop and connect my xbox to live. lately every time i come out of a game in halo reach it says server unavailable which stops me from playing matchmaking and i have to restart my xbox just to get it to work again, so i looked up solutions and found an app called Barnacle which is the top wireless tethering app so i installed it and got it working for one game on xbox live then i got disconnected and couldn't connect back with out the app telling me "nat restart permission denied" I need to know how to set up this app to work perfectly with xbox live via Ethernet on my laptop tethered connection ...any input would be helpful I have yet to see a resolution for my specific situation

Even though you have had some success with connectivity, I have seen several issues with Windows 7 and wireless tethering.

I would go to the manufacturers website of your laptop and look for WLAN drivers for your specific laptop. Download and install those drivers. Reboot after installation of drivers.
