Help Oh great... dead phone.

I got tired of reloading apps and loosing my call logs getting new MT phone hardware from VM, so this time I:
1. Rooted with gingerbreak,
2. Replaced recovery.img in bootloader mode with CWM recovery,
3. Took a backup to SD.

With the new phone, I restored the backup but it hangs at the Motorola splash screen and won't boot.

I'm so frustrated with this *&#)$%@ thing I'm thinking of an iPhone. Yikes.

Install a custom ROM? (In for a penny, in for a pound I guess)

it's not dead, don't worry, just a bootloop, probably bad recovery. Do you use CWM 5.5 ? Try flashing stock http://androidforums.com/triumph-al...eodex-roms-triumph-now-resets-splash-img.html
when you done, I would use different CWM, there are lots of people having issues with 5.5

Yep- try an earlier version of CWM...

Yes, I used CWM 5.5. It DID say "RECOMMENDED VERSION" after all...

I tried restoring using 5.0.2.3, no luck.

I tried a backup with 5.0.2.3 and restore with 5.0.2.3, it worked!
