so yeah, i really want the xoom, if its not locked down too much...

oh yeah, only if it has gorilla glass too!

thoughts?

Too bad its only a 1 ghz processor

duel core 1ghz processor = 2 GHz= more than enough to keep 99.9% of everyone happy.

this thing looks awesome. i would love to have one, but i have my Droid X, my W7 Sony Vaio (which is AMAZING) and a Nook Color which will be rooted soon enough with tablet like features.

Dual core doesn't mean double the speed (ghz) it means it can run twice as many processes parallel to each other

I'll get it if I don't need to pay a crazy amount for it. Otherwise I'll just pick up the Tab

I'm watching the xoom development closely. I picked up an Archos 70IT to tide me over till the real Tablets emerge, which looks to be a couple of months.

LOL. My 1st desktop was a Gateway 386 16Mhz (yes, Megahertz!) processor. Moore's law has spoiled us rotten!

Hehe! All of those good, old days......
I remember my comp had 1Mb of RAM, and 100Mb hard disk...i was so happy after upgrade i made to 2Mb of memory.....and it wasn't too long ago, 16, 18 years ???

I think the first desktop I had ran PCDos 1.01 and was 4.77 Mhz. :) It ran of 360k floppies. Later I upgraded it to a 10 mb hard drive!

I sure thought that was high tech with a monochrome monitor. Now my watch is more powerful. LOL.

I had a TRS-80, with 4 megs of ram. It saved files to a cassette.

I upgraded it to 16k ($100) and overclocked it and upgraded it to hires graphics.

360k floppies were a welcome change that I didn't enjoy until a couple years later.

My first computer was the Timex-Sinclair TS100 (anyone remember that?). It was about the size of 2 DX's laid side by side: membrane keyboard, 2K of ram, 3.25Mhz processor, tape-player program storage.

Ahhh, memories....:D

+1 to the Moore's Law comment above
