Alright ive been reading up on this 2.1 and all. Got a couple of questions, to start off i know alot about wm, is rooting the eris like putting a hard spl on a phone, also if I do root it what 2.1ver. should i go with even if i want to go back to 1.5 or update to the 2.1 when it officaly comes out. just trying to figure all this out.

Well when you root basically you are unlocking the bootloader, loading Amon's Recovery Image, and then reflashing with whatever rom you want to run. The roms that are available right now are built on the v2.1 v2 leak and not off v1, so i wouldn't worry about which version of 2.1 you are running because you have no choice when loading a rom. I'm running Sense-able v2.0. You can just flash v2.0 and not worry about v.7 and then upgrading, it makes life easier to just go with v2.0 from the start. Of course if you choose to go with a different rom then grab the latest version of it.
