OK Google doesn't work from lock screen anymore??

This was my favorite feature of the whole ok google thing....now there is no longer an "always on" setting for google now.

Searching turned up that it now only works on the Nexus 6/9 and Note 4.. WTF?!

Moto app, Moto Voice - that will work from the lockscreen, right?

(Motorola Voice is different from Google's search app "OK Google" detection, and is added on to the Moto X, Droid Maxx/Ultra/Mini and Droid Turbo.)

Moto Voice will, yes. But I REALLY want my google back. The OK Google now only works from the lock screen if the phone is charging. If I wanted to always be connected to the charger, I would have bought a Samsung!

I know it's not a particularly active forum these days, but I had to whine somewhere!

But Moto Voice does the same thing OK Google does if it's not a special Motorola command. (So, if your catch phrase is "OK Droid Turbo", then saying, "OK Droid Turbo, what time is the Women's World Cup semifinal game on TV tonight?" should give the same answer as the Google search app's "OK Google, etc." from anywhere, including the lockscreen, including when the phone is on battery.)

The special Moto commands are things like "What's Up?" to read off unread notifications, etc.

Unless I am missing something...

Hmm...I turned it on and it works great...
S'pose it could be I just got outsmarted! I don't remember having it on before tho. Anyhow... Good enough, Thanks

You guys are the nuts. I was trying to figure this out for a day and a half and tried the moto thing and it works just great. Also allowed me to not have the google now home screen. Thanks.
