Help Ok Google Everywhere?

Has anyone with the updated Search app got "Ok Google" detection working from any screen in their Note? I have the updated app, but not the new detection settings.

I did see the trick to make the new settings appear with the "ok Google everywhere" search, but it hasn't worked out :-\

It looks like it's not current in Google Play (or it wasn't last week). But, you can sideload the newest one to access "OK Google" everywhere:

However, there may be compatibility issues. It works fine on my G2. Be sure you have the latest update to Google Play.

Anyone know if it requires 4.4+? I'm still waiting on my Kitkat update for the unlocked N7100 here in the US.

I have it working on mine. My Note 2 has 4.4.2/kitkat.



Quick tip: Get OK Google everywhere right now - CNET

Edit: Some users are reporting that this only works on their 4.4 and up devices, so you may need to update your Android version before you can use this functionality.

Note 2 International 4.3.

"OK Google" works on all screens.

It is slowly rolling out to all the users. Sometime back I also struggled to get and it wasn't rolled out to me but I had to change my gapps (related with root).
You can wait until it is available to you or you can try this simple trick write "OK google everywhere" in the app and press search button and then go to Settings-Voice-ok Google detextion . it might not work for everybody but some got it through this.
So why not to try this awesome feature ?
I'm enjoying it anyway...

It was nothing to do with Android 4.3. It was a Play Store update that did it for me.

Ah...

I'm currently using Nova Launcher. So I can rotate the home screen.

"OK Google" works on all screens.

I've just disabled Nova and gone "stock" and "OK Google" doesn't work at all.


Maybe that's the reason. Sorry for not realising earlier.


The good news is that Nova is free and can be made to look exactly like the stock screen (with the extra ability to rotate the home screens!)
