"OK google" (Nova Launcher/Google Now)

So Google Now (when set to "English Generic") now understands my strong West of Scotland accent http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=6629168 amazingly well even without trying to sound posh or speak slowly (+1 Google)
So it is now genuinely useful to me and since Nova Launcher have added the" OK Google" hot word it's excellent.
So my question is is there any way to change the "hot word" (is that the right term)

Do you have "Touchless Control" in settings? That's where I am able to 'train' my hot-word, and yes, I was able to not use the standard "OK Google".
I have a Moto X though so options/settings for that may be very, very different.

Edit: forget that. language and input/voice/OK Google detection. Mine's not available but can you set it there?

Nope I don't have it since ok google isn't native to my s3.i guess and Nova is doing all the work. I'll suggest it to the dev.

Yes nova launcher is the best. Why people mess around with their go launcher jazz... I have no clue.

As a noob I used GO for like a year. Bloated spammy crap.
Then they had the 25p sale for Nova Prime, imported my set up and the rest was history.
I bought Widget Locker as a donation coz I felt bad. I don't even use a lock screen other than Dynamic Notifications :D

I bought Nova Prime about three weeks ago. Think it's great, best launcher I've used up to date.

When I first got my Moto X I sort of did feel like it was spying on me, taking notes about everything I said. lol. Now though, I don't even give it a second thought. I don't use voice commands too often but love being able to when I want. Mostly I use it in the car for placing calls, launching Pandora and Maps. I've gotten over the fact that it just sits there, waiting and listening, all the time :)

The "ok Google from any screen" feature is (or will soon be) available without a 3rd party app. At least that means it could only be Google spying on you, not a third party. The permission that Google asks is to send a little bit of recorded audio to Google from a time span a few seconds before to an few seconds after you say ok Google. So I think Google won't spy on you.

I tend to think the 3rd party app Open Mic+ is not malware simply because it's so widely used and discussed, but you never know.... The permission are pretty broad....I wonder why it needs to read our text messages.

The Moto X will read your texts to you if you want. If I get a text and say "OK Google" then "what's up?" it will tell me I have a new text and then will read it to me. If it's an email or other notification it'll just tell me I have an email from whoever. Again, on the Moto's, you can set them up to automatically read your texts to you while driving. Pretty neat really.

I'm going to guess that's where that permission comes from, whether it's an active option or not may be another thing...
 
Will this app work alongside the "OK Google everywhere" search "hack " or does it fully replace it? Is it using Google Now for its results?
PS anyone using the hack with Banks Minimal Gapps will notice it doesn't work so a buddy tinkered with Banks to make it work.

Lock... Screen? What is this mystical idea... Must be another Steve jobs invention haha!

I keep the standard one... Lord knows I have no clue why tho...
 
Lol I just don't use one. Pointless.
The idiots here, if they find or steal a phone and it's locked it gets thrown away (they don't know about factory reset in recovery) so I'd rather they play with it while I track it.
We've caught a phone theif before and it was fun :D
