first time posting, but I have been visiting this site and reading up for about a month or so. Let me get this out of the way first, my phone is 1 month old pure stock captivate. Never been rooted or flashed.
My issue:
when I first got my phone I tried to play videos on dailymotion.com, it would not play them. 2 weeks ago, I decided to go back to that website and it started streaming the videos on dailymotion with no issues at all. I clicked on the video and a window popped up asking if I wanted to use the video player or browser. If I clicked the video player it would open that program and stream the video, if I chose the browser it would download the video. Things were great... Until I decided to clear the cache, cookies, etc on my standard browser. After that, the videos no longer play, I chose the video player and it immediately says " sorry, this video can not be played ".
So I'm lost... Why would it stop playing? I have since then tried clearing the video player cache and browser to no avail. Was I even supposed to be able to stream those videos? The only thing that I can think of that may of helped me be able to do this was when I sync'd up my phone to window 7 media player center and the media player transfered a bunch of unwanted stuff onto my phone. My thought is, did the windows media player transfer codecs onto my phone that allowed me to watch those videos and when I cleared the browser I deleted them?
Secondly, in order to install adobe flash lite 4 do I needed to be rooted? I downloaded the file, but can't install it. A security pop up says that it is blocking the install of the flash program.
