My Eris is the right size and is the smartest phone that works on PagePlus, which costs very little for the services I need. But it has been a little buggy, control is laggy, and some functions (wireless tethering) were missing. I was about to struggle through the processes shown in this forum, but someone in the neighborhood offered to do it.
I now have in my hand a rooted Eris with Froyo and wireless hot spot. No overclocking (yet). All my contact, schedule, memos, etc. have been saved.
Before I do anything other than get the phone number working, I'll appreciate advice.
What should I do - and what should I NOT do - to optimize this phone? What root-specific apps/utilities are important?
USAGE: phone, 5 texts/day, ebook reader, calendar, memos, nav, web, email, occasional levitation (no music, videos, or games)
Thanks, gurus!
