OK Orange, I'm done.

Hi all

Well, replacement Sim card not arrived yet, so my Hero is going back to Orange along with the contract.

Can anyone tell me how I can wipe the device back to factory so it forgets my google log-in and the rest?

I hate to see a contributor leave the forum. You have helped me with a few questions that I had with my Hero.

I hope you find a phone that works for you.

I really liked the android platform, and found this forum to be pleasantly lacking and cliques or hierarchy. Maybe that's the spirit of Android at it's best.
You are all a shining example of the android userbase.

I am considering my next move now. I will return to my blackberry curve for now and check out a few other handsets (magic perhaps) too.
I may go for tmobile G2. Maybe Vodafone Magic. Maybe wait for something sim free.

I will still lurk and help where I can.

well i am on orange and i have to say when i update to 1.5 my reception went to 5 bars and was use to 3 bars same place.


i suggest update the rom and see any difference if not then u can return handset anyway..

but on my orange uk have made lot of improvement

a) Speed
b) reception
c) extra apps
d) smooth & everything is what you want from a smartphone..

and glad to say i am very happy and pleased with Orange and HTC HERO.

Have Orange published the update already?
 
Trick202 - how long have you had the contract? I didnt notice my problems until after the 1 month period so i cant get out of my orange contract :( Im stuck with it..
 
I got my stuff on the friday, logged the complaint straight away and it's taken them 7 days to get the sim to me.
Now it's here though, I may have to eat humble pie and call them to activate again.
Hmmm, not sure. Being back with the blackberry gives me a feeling of sitting a comfy old armchair. Nice, relaxing, reliable, dependable......BORING, NO APPS, POOR SCREEN etc etc

What to do??????

It's also worth noting that the SIM they have sent as replacement look nothing like the one they shipped with the handset
