never heard of that app..I will have to add it on my husbands phone, but my husband is listed in my contacts with his name & (husband) beside it

Dunno if you were using pattern unlock or just the slide unlock, they couldn't unlock it to get to the contacts.

why not just take it to verizon and let them run the esn? simple

I don't have the phone its located halfway across the state from me.
I do know where it was last seen however. Fellow from work was traveling last week and his daughter was approached by a woman asking for her teenage techie skills to open the phone trying to find contacts with no luck.

Oh , I don't know... If they or whoever does find mine or anyones for that matter, you would think that they would do just that (contact verizon) or call a contact on the phone & try to find the owner...I did that last year, I found a phone & ran through the contacts untl I found "MOM" & call that # & found the owner...mine also has MOM & DAD as a contact
