Old apps function with Lollipop?

I have an old app, which appears to no longer be supported, in fact it no longer shows in the Play store. (I see no comparable app, when I have searched.)

I am curious verifying if the app will still work, if I "upgrade" from 4.4.2 to Lollipop.

I was concerned, due to the ART change, and how that might affect a non-updated app.

Why not enable ART, (Android RunTime), on your phone and check it out for yourself.

If you don't like it you can switch back to Dalvik.

Before I had a chance to test this option, the update installed itself, against my wishes.

The good news is that the app still works.
