Root [OLD][BOOST Rom] Loota's bear necessities rom 2.3.6 with WIFI FIX

Hi all, I know there has been a little confusion with how to fix your wifi issues and I've been meaning to put this out there for awhile.

I have made a rom I called the bear necessities. This is an inside joke as I play wow under the name of loota and I'm a druid ;-) (we shapeshift into bears).

The current iteration of this rom is unthemed and has some very minor changes from stock...

[Removed] Thinkfree office
[Removed] Mobileid
[Added] Busybox Installer. Requires setup.
[Added] Bobzhome's kernel
[Added] Avast free antivirus and anti theft. Requires set up. DEFAULT PASSWORD IS 123456
[Added] Juice Defender (free version). Requires set up.
[Added] Titanium Backup (free version)
[Added] Foxfi + foxfi addon
[Added] Setdns
[Tweaked] Setdns is a system app now and set to opendns, you may need to re-apply this setting automatically.
[Added] Voltage Control
[Tweaked] Voltage Control comes preset oc'ed to 1.4ghz
[Added] Waze (This is a purely selfish app for me to include. Its a social gps app that shares data with other waze users, flag a cop on the map and others see it too! Same for traffic and accidents etc.. I like it a lot and in truth the more people that use it the better it is so ha!)

The main purpose of this rom is to provide a stockish rom with what I feel are the bare essentials. Setdns is included to counteract the wifi issue people are having with 2.3.6. It is a simple fix and it works well but people aren't using it for some reason.. I've included it so its easier for people to use. Flash this rom and hopefully your wifi woes will be gone. Though as I mentioned above you may need to reapply the dns setting.

Instructions.
Unzip zipped file from your computer. May work on your phone but don't post here asking why it won't work without trying to unzip on your computer first too.
Move Lootas-bear-necessities to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/
Boot into cwm. Don't have cwm? Y U NO have cwm?
Backup.
Reboot into cwm.
Factory reset.
Wipe cache.
Select advanced.
Wipe dalvick cache.
Fix permissions.
Reboot into cwm.
Restore Lootas-bear-necessities.
Reboot system.
Wait a couple of minutes for initial bootup.

[Known issues] Spam from superuser saying setdns is granted superuser permission every ****ing 5 seconds. This is a problem with the app and not something I can solve for you. I turned off notifications for superuser to stop the spam on my own personal setup though I can not morally recommend you do the same as that could be a security risk (we would like to know when an app gets permission to do funky stuff on our phones right?). The problem is caused when your internet connection point is reset as in it connects to a new tower for 3g. Each time this happens setdns gets permission from superuser. It should not happen over wifi but can be seriously annoying over 3g.

[Known issues] Wifi connection point is saved that you've never seen or used before. Minor nuiscance I know but it took me a buttload of time to zip this up and upload it from my phone. I forgot to delete it before backing up the image.. Jeez gimme a break! :-P

Thanks go to Bobzhome for his work on a kernel for a phone he doesn't even have.

Katracho for the base rom this was built off of. Without this base I doubt I would have received 2.3.6 to even work on yet.

Steve the creator of setdns, which I am using with his permission as a workaround fix for the 2.3.6 wifi issue.

All the great devs here and elsewhere for android and the samsung transform ultra.

Did everything with root explorer on my phone. Didn't wipe anything, only restored and everything works great. Thanks LOOTA love it.
 
Thank you again for your services...you Katrancho, ChosenJuan, Chevon and Bobzhome definitely need to win developers of the last two years, Easily no debating!!! Been following your guys work for awhile (excuse me for the misspelling of the names, been a long day of partying) I've never had this problem before, and im sure once the liqour is out of my system and the sun comes up ill remember...but I installed this rom...and roughly about 30 minutes ago i kept getting the infamous Invalid Google talk chat service, and now i cant download anything from the market....somethings telling me to reflash, not quite sure why or if that would work...tried fixing permissions....no go....and shout outs to you adding waze...4 buck app....lol

go to settings/applications/manage apps click the all tab delete cache for google play store and wipe data for google services framework then reboot.

ps: love this rom loota!
