Help Oleophobic coating worn off?

Kookas

Well-Known Member
Some reason I have a real serious problem with rainbow smudges in recent times, even when my hands aren't that oily. Was fine when I first had it. Is it possible that the magic coating has gone?

What do you use to clean it? I'm sure soaps, alcohol, and other types of cleaner probably significantly shorten the life of the coating.

I have an original iPad that has a similar coating, and it still works well. I only wipe it down with water and that cloth that comes with it (or on my shirt, etc)

Never bothered cleaning it to that extent, so it can't be that. I just wipe it on my shirt, or I might dab my hand in water and wipe the screen.
