OMG! I actually saw a movie that didn't have a Mac in it!

Most every movie I have seen always has mac books in them! Is this a marketing/social engineering thing???

I about feel out of my chair seeing this movie the other night that DIDN'T have a Mac, but some other brand!

I'm still blown away! :D

I'm sure it's because they look so nice on camera. Plus AFAICT movie people tend to be Mac users anyway. Sometimes it's product placement as well, then they'll make the Apple logo obvious.

Was it Sony Vaio? I'm sure they've had product placement many times in movies.

Yeah, it's rare though to not see a Mac in a movie.

As far as the crew using Macs, I can see that. Apple computers are supposed to be good for artsy fartsy stuff. :)

Alot of tv shows in the 60s-80s used to always drive Ford-Lincoln-Mercurys...so I would assume they paid to have their products in movies/tv shows.

Pretty sure that when a Mac (or any other brand) is placed in a movie, a promotional fee was paid. Movie makers realize that this is a source of income, so they're not going to just let it go for free.

Sometimes, it's the movie makers that solicit companies for a chance to be in a movie. Often times, you'll see what's obviously a Mac (or a Dell), but the logo has been obscured or covered. These are situations where they needed a computer, but no one took up the producer's offer to pay a promotional fee.

So... if you see lots of Macs in movies and TV, most of the time, Apple is behind that.
