Help On board memory not seen

My phone occasionally stops being able to see photos and music in the onboard memory. It can still see the SD card okay, but music and old photos on the onboard memory can't be used by the music player nor gallery. Other apps can see them and any photos taken since are visible. It's only been happening since the big update and a similar thing happens to my wife's DInc. It fixes itself after a power cycle, but doing that is a pain.
