On-Call/Dialing functionality

I've seen a lot of complaints about this, but never a solid answer... rather, no responses.

Dialing numbers/pressing Call/End responds VERY slow... will there ever be a fix for that?

During a call what is the proper method for lighting the screen?

hmm...well, i just press menu to light the screen when in a call. as to pressing call, it's a bit delayed for me, i'm running fresh 2.1.1 rom, but it seems acceptable to me really. for end..i just hit the end button on phone, not screen, a couple times and it seems to pretty much just end the call.
