on holiday in corfu, no network available, orange

Hi guys, hope you can help!

I'm on holiday in corfu, orange branded froyo desire, my phone constantly says that there is no network available and I can't manually choose a network. I've tried everything to try and get a signal but no joy, would like to send a few text messages home to the mother,

Any help?

If you phone is not network locked, maybe the easiest thing to do would be buy a local sim.

did you notify orange to tell them you were going abroad??on mine i had roaming so i had movistar for my reception but couldnt get any gprs because i was on foreign network.

if you are planning on roaming from a uk network generally (there are exceptions) you need to call them and ask them to add it to your account, sometimes a deposit is required.
