Help On/Off - Power Button

An issue like that has nothing to do with the 30 day return, unless you are talking about returning it for something else. An issue like this would be covered by the one year manufacturer warranty.

My button is definitely getting softer/more sunken in as well. I really wish an app would come out that will allow everyone to wake their phone using the trackpad.

Like everyone else, this is happening to my phone too. I noticed about 3-4 days ago. Really sucks. The button still works fine though. I hope it doesn't cause any problems down the road.

This is incorrect. The reason it has to do with the 30 day return period is that, if you experience issues that require a replacement phone, if you are within your 30 day return period, they hand you a new phone. If you are outside the 30 day window, you are given a refurbished phone. I'm sure some people manage to get new replacements outside the 30 day window, but it is not guaranteed.

And new versus refurbished is a huge difference, IMO.

I sent my first phone back because of this the replacement is fine so far.
No issues for me whatsoever at this point. I turn this puppy on and off all the time too, just like most of you. So perhaps it's a bad batch of phones? I would get it replaced if it's got you concerned, I'll guess the new one will be fine.

I agree BJ...Hey we better stay incognito over here, we don't want the Eris crew holding witch trials for us!! ;)

I attached some pics, but I took them with a Blackberry so I don't know how good they are...
You should still be able to see the button condition especially the left side closer to the edge of the phone. It is completely flattened and this from 4 days of use.

Yeah, mine looks the same way. I guess I'll try and exchange it with Best Buy. Man, I really love this phone. I hope this problem was limited to only a certain batch.

No problems here. The button is nearly flush, but was that way from day one. It's not sticking, and still works flawlessly. It never made much of a click or anything like the trackpad does. I'd still love to see an app to use the trackpad for wake up though!

OMG, those are the worst pictures I've ever seen.:p Were they taken out of a moving car? Oops... never mind, taken with a BB.

Just noticed this issue today. I've had the phone since 4/29. The button is almost flush with the case. Oh and I have not been using a protective case.

After scoping out a few stores (I drive by like 4 of them on my way to work) they are all like this. When I asked the sales associate, they tell me it is how they are designed.

Yeah and those were the 2 "acceptable" ones!!
Can you at least see what I am talking about?
Not really, but I absolutely believe you. I just don't have that issue it seems. I have a button that sticks out a bit and has a definite click when I push it.
