I like the onscreen buttons on my Xoom. With HC/ICS the need for a menu button is less, as it is only for apps not optimized for ICS. I'm not really interested in having a button on my next phone that at some point (hopefully) will not be needed. I haven't done any dimensions or math, but isn't the Galaxy Nexus going to have about the same or a bit larger screen real estate measurements as the other 4.3" phones that have buttons?
I like the capacitive buttons better than physical buttons, but I'm willing to try on screen buttons on my next phone. Gives the phone a cleaner look, plus when watching videos and what not, and the buttons disappear, that is even more yummy screen space.
