Help On Screen Controls - Gnex only?

Well-Known Member
When the Gnex was released with ICS I was under the impression more and more phones would be taking advantage of the on screen control and eliminating the buttons on the front of their phones. I was thinking this could be the start of some really cool looking devices.

However as more ICS devices are designed and announced I haven't seen one other company take use of the ICS on screen buttons.

You guys think well see more of the gnex style or will most manufacturers stick to the physical buttons?

I haven't seen the specs for anything "new" everything that is currently being released or will in the next month or so was all started WAY back before ICS became a design standard...

It usually takes 6 months for "natively" designed phones to be released on a new OS level...

Well i would think google told device manufacturers the new version would include on screen controls ahead of time but honestly who knows. Im referring to any of the devices that have been announced to have ICS 4.0

Like?

I can't find any references to announced devices coming with ICS natively ...

afaik, no ICS upgrades to existing phones have even been released officially

Two i could find quickly. Of course I understand what you mean about development being 6 months behind. Now that on screen buttons have been introduced you would hope that manufacturers are working to get some phones out with this feature. Just not far along enough in development for announcements and rumors.
